I liked the Libertarian Cowl, actually. At least it had feathery things on it to distract from the plain ugly conehead crap, unlike a bunch of the other mage cowls, which were just plain ugly conehead pieces of crap.

And I'd like one of these:

To hide our pet mongoose in.

The funny thing all this time I read that cowl as "Librarian's cowl" in my head :P

Give me a deep hood, and I'll be satisfied. Something that resembles Garrett's, from the Thief series.

If you get a wolf/beast pelt, you should get an option to adapt it into a hood.

It would be nice if they finally used the DA concept art. For a female mage, of course.

the mage hats really were ridiculous.

give us circlets. PLEASE.

I mean if they can make them for NWN2 surely BioWare (who are supposed to be better than Obsidian) can give them to us in DA2 or heck, even as DLC for DA:O.

the pointy, broad brimmed hat is a little TOO Gandalf for me... but i can see the appeal for others.

Hoods would be fine.

The casters from that GI podcast about DA2 actually suggested a very interesting idea: have them make several mage hat designs and have them wear it in real life at work for a whole week. I doubt anyone would want to wear those feathery things...makes you wonder whose idea it was to design it as such.

I'm hoping for hoods and masks. And an option to keep them on during conversations. I always found it damn stupid when the helmets were removed.

I like the mage hat of Throne of Bhaal. He look similar to the mage hat of Dragon Age but he is better. Also, the outfit is fine too.

I wouldn't even let any of my mages wear a hat because they were just so horrendous looking, or I had to turn them all into arcane warriors.

the fact that there were only two types of robes as well which changed colour was frustrating.

The headgear was daft also of course. The cowl with the feather at the back looked ok, the towering wrap round hat looked stupid.

For my sake, they could well remove all hats and helmets, looks ridiculous anyway imo

The Elder Scrolls are that way. Khajiit mages come with the base games, Dremora requires mods ;)

The title of this topic can't be said often, or loudly enough. Come on, i don't want to use a no helmet hack in DA2 :(

So please either improve the design, or include the no helmet option in the game.

You know... doesn't Amelissan somehow looks similar to Flemeth and Hawke designs?

more variety is never bad, but I disagree with that the existing ones are bad, just because they don't look like the usual pointy hats from all other games/books/movies

I would like to take a moment to point out the boobs... and that it is a SHE

and this girl was perhaps the most sexiest enemy in BG history, perhaps with Bodhi as exception

Hmmm, I am probably going to be the laughing stock of this thread for a few minutes but.......I actually liked the librarian's cowl. I think that was the name of it. All I know is that it is blue and gold and looks pretty good with my blue and gold mage outfit lol that is just my opinion though.

No Helmet Hack mod. One of several mods on my must-have list.

For that matter, maybe rogues should get hoods as well.

I don't dislike the DA:O hats because they aren't cliches.  I dislike them because I honestly believe they look bad.

possible mage hats : robe hood , straw hat or a standard iron helmet . Dont turn mages into chief white feather , if you wear something on your head its either as protection from elements or to keep your skull intact . Not stupid i get five inflect from wearing ugly looking and uncomfortably-stupid looking hat on my head .

add better rogue headgear while youre at it.

I hated them so much, i kept my main char without a helm the entire game, regardless of any stats, because i couldn't look at my character and think they looked anything but absolutely ridiculous in their headgear.
