I just installed Dragon Age: Origins and began game play. I am in the character creation story as a human noble. I am in the part where the castle is being attacked and I am with my mother, we are supposed to go to the kitchen larder. The hall is blocked by debris and fire. The only way through seems to be through the great hall. I went in there, killed the attackers, but the door to the kitchen is locked and there doesn't seem to be a key anywhere. I do I get to the kitchen?!!!!
Help! (spoilers)

I haven't encountered this problem myself, but I looked it up on the Dragon Age wiki and it's listed as a potential bug. Here's what it says:
There is a glitch that occurs when tasked with finding your father in the larder. The northern door leading to the kitchen area will be locked and nothing will open it. To avoid this, allow Ser Gilmore to automatically talk to the player after the previous battle instead of manually engaging in conversation with him first. If you find yourself in this bug however, you must reload an older save or simply restart the entire origin story. -- DA wiki
