I BECAME A SPECTRE GOT ON THE NORMANDY TRAVELED TO A PLANET, NOW I CANT FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET ON TO THE MAKO AND GET OUT OF THE SHIP. IT WONT LET ME SELECT IT WHEN IM STANDING IN FRONT OF IT, DO I HAVE TO DO SOMTHING ELSE FIRST OR WHAT . HOW DO I SELECT IT, OR HOW DO I GET OUT OF THE SHIP.

You either walk out the airlock behind the cockpit for missions that allow it, which will only be story missions and the Citadel. Otherwise you will click on the planet in the star map and use a button there to land on the planet, which will have a cut-scene of the Mako dropping. To get back to the ship afterward on a Mako drop you access the map screen.
Which planet did you go too?? Was it one suggested to continue the story?? If so you may have a harder time, because of your low level, and may want to explore some general planets to gain levels.
