it was a Spoiler on a ME1 Forum idk how is that bad, now if you would have made it in the ME2 and he would have revealed the spoiler then we would have a problem
Okay, let me get this straight. It's okay to post a Mass Effect 2 spoiler in the Mass Effect 1 spoiler forum, where they don't belong. But it isn't okay to post a Mass Effect 2 spoiler in the Mass Effect 2 spoiler forum, where they belong? Because, that's pretty much what you just said. Well, I already knew this, but you're either twelve, retarded, or both. I'm done talking to you.

Mass Effect 1 Official Campaign Quests and Storylines (Spoilers Warning)
This forum is for Mass Effect 1 fans to discuss the game's storyline and quests. WARNING: Topics may reveal spoiler information.
Mass Effect 2 is a continuation of the Mass Effect storyline, therefore information from ME2 can, and has been, used as spoiler information for ME1.
Knowing full well that ME had a sequel, you posted a question in a spoiler forum, and gamers tend to be a helpful bunch of folks, willing to answer questions other may have. We will give as much information as we have at our disposal. Your response, is to whinge that you were given the answer to your question.
Typing "mass effect prothean beacon" into google would have given you the same spoiler information on the results page, without even having to click on a link to go further. Go complain to google as well.
So, in future, I suggest you phrase your questions more carefully. Add a caveat to your question, stating you do not wish to know if the answer is revealed in ME2.

How the Hell does the game being out for a year make your spoilers not spoilers? The game could be out for a century and it would still be a spoiler. And how the Hell was I supposed to know the vision in the first game had anything to do with the Collectors from the second game, since I've never had the opportunity to play the second game? No, I wasn't "fishing for spoilers;" everything I said had to do with Mass Effect 1, to the best of the knowledge available to me without having played the second game. A group of people who'd never played Mass Effect 2, or a group of people considerate enough not to spoil Mass Effect 2 for the people who'd never played it, could have had a perfectly good discussion on the topic with no unwarranted Mass Effect 2 spoilers. That's what this forum is supposed to be for.
As for "personal attacks," mine were quite warranted. Spoiling a game for someone is a lot worse than a few hot words, which makes his offense far worse than mine. Moreover, I did no wrong to deserve the offense he gave, while he did wrong to deserve the one he received.
I shouldn't waste my time throwing jewelry to pigs, but here goes: a story can only be discovered once. After that, you're just trying to relive the original experience, but failing to go through the same magic. A mystery, once solved, is no longer a mystery. Much of the joy of a story's first hearing is the unknown, and the revelation of the unknown.
A spoiler is robbing the spoilee of that unique revelation within the immersed context. (It's the emotional-intellectual equivalent of someone else having sex with your virgin bride in front of you on your wedding night.) You can never get that moment back; it permanently affects the way your perceive the story and the events of it, and not for the positive. It takes the mystery away without allowing the story to do it for you.
Again, I fully realize that I'm wasting my time. If you don't truly value stories, nothing I can say will enable to you to understand the eternal loss caused by having the experience stolen from you by a spoiler. And if you are a sociopath, then even if you do value stories, there is little reason for you to refrain from robbing others of their wonder by permanently damaging their experience of the fiction.
Echo out.
Your asking for spoilers when you post asking for answers to a storyline that already has a sequel. My friend is just now getting around to playing ME2, and he knows nothing of the plot yet. Guess what? He didn't go on the forums asking about the storyline.

If you are so concerned about spoilers, why the hell you looked at this topic in the first place? It has a general spoiler warning !
I made the topic. It's in the Mass Effect 1 spoiler forum and I put a Mass Effect 1 spoiler in it, the way it's supposed to be. He threw a Mass Effect 2 spoiler in the Mass Effect 1 spoiler forum. That's against the rules and, regardless, extremely inconsiderate, rude, and damaging.
I could murder people who post spoilers in inappropriate places; once seen, they cannot be unseen. It can completely ruin a very interesting and unique plot experience. Spoilers are for life. You can never get that back. Die in a fire.
Trust me... it's a terrible revelation. It has no relevance. And some jerks spoiled everyone a couple days before the official release with posting that as an all-caps thread title. Trust me, it's nothing to worry about (I know, cause I was pissed at first too.) But it's such a small (and rather insignificant) part of the entire game of ME2, that I wouldn't worry at all if I were you.

On topic, if you haven't finished the story, asking for someone else to fill in the gaps IS asking for spoilers. Period. You deserve what you got, Echo.

Back to the original question; It made no sense to me, though it might've been that the Protheans communicate/perceive their environment differently than humans do. Like having a blind man getting a vision that shows him images, humans might simply be lacking in their comprehensive abilities to understand what the beacon tried to project.

Knowing what the Reapers are capable of, it shouldn't be a surprise that they decided to recycle their harvested victims and put them to use as servants. It's exactly what they did to the Keepers. This is an example of a much more important plot fact. The entire ME1 happens because of it.
Collectors being recycled Protheans could have had an actual plot impact if the Protheans had willingly agreed to become servants (Saren could have been right, after all!).
It is more interesting and far more useful what a certain salarian from ME 2 says about the genophage, I think.

But about the vision, I never understood it completely. I always wondered if that planet where Sovereign comes out is the planet where Saren found Soreverign?

That said, I think the vision shows various scenes of the Protheans being attacked and/or indoctrinated by the Reapers. I never really understood the relevance of the addition of the Collector in the ME2 vision, since it can be assumed that by the time the Collectors came about, the original vision sent out by the Protheans on Ilos had been sent out years or even decades earlier.

could it possibly be the start of the protheans being turned into collectors?
Thanks for the MASSIVE SPOILER, you ****ING TOOL. Go to Hell. That was a big Mass Effect 2 spoiler in a Mass Effect 1 spoiler forum. I haven't played Mass Effect 2 yet. I hope you're happy. (Well, no, I don't, but you're probably happy anyway.)
first of all,
go find yourself a big box of tissues and a corner to cry in (this is a response to your immature way of responding)
secondly, I will say that I am sincerely sorry if I gave too much info, I was only trying to answer your question the best I could
and lastly, as others have pointed out, this is a spoilers thread and yes I did make an honest mistake of thinking you had already played both games by now, since you made no mention of only playing ME1 so far
also, I did not see anything about any rules that you are talking about, or I wouldn't have posted anything in the first place
once again I am sorry
but just so you know, I wouldn't call it a massive spoiler by the way
