I have an excellent frame rate at all times, except for in a single location. This is the tram station on Noveria. Why does this place, alone of all places in the game, give me bad frame rate? I can't figure out why. It doesn't seem to have more frames, or higher-resolution textures, or anything.
Odd slowdown at one specific location

Your video card is nearly five years old, and had rather little in the way of pixel shader power. You shouldn't be expecting much from it.

As you can see there, it has only half of the performance of the named Geforce that was "Recommended".

Gorath, how did you figure out he had a 5 year old video card if he didn't mention the model?
Josh, I can run the game well but I also get a slowdown at the tram station, between 5-10 fps below average depending on where the camera is aimed (during my first playthrough a few years ago), though it's less noticeable if I use up to date drivers. I suspect it has to do with the map itself, maybe because of the tunnel? not entirely sure.
In my case, it only happens at the first station, on the way to the labs. Is this your case as well?

It's a 7800 GT, just as in the link, unless he finally broke down and upgraded it.

You're entirely missing the point of my post, Gorath Alpha. I'm not looking for a solution; I'm wondering why this location is unique in this way. It doesn't look like it's more hardware-intensive than any other part of the game. Sure, the tunnel is round, but then so are the walls in many other places, too.
Raith Karris, I posted my specifications in another thread, and he remembered it from there. That's how he knew.
