All the new info I'm reading is making me pretty hype for DA2 ( almost equal to my hype for ME2 :-)

It seems a lot of people are worried about DA2, which is understandable so will not bash anyone; We all have our opinions about....well, everything lol. I for one really like what I'm seeing. Especially the idea of viewing the Age of Dragons from a different perspective. So much to see, so much to do. We can only see so much through the eyes of a single person :-))
Although I would like to know one thing about the combat. Will the finishers happen at random like in DAO, or will the player control the finishers this time around? That's really the only question I have at the moment. Everything else ( new srt style, upgraded combat, Hawke, ten 10 story line. ) all sounds awesome! I won't lie I was pretty worried about the new style at first, but those worries have been utterly obliterated :-))
Though I have plenty of awesome games with bad graphics lol

untill then, don't mention those two together.
After the video interview from GI i'm hyped too. the way they describe it is totally DA and the look and sound of themselves makes me sure they haven't ****ed it over yet... though i would like a Vid of Gaider shouting down the halls turning over tables.
Finishers are still random i imagine. i wouldn't want to have to control the finishers while managing combat tactically. i'd never see them then.

It's just... stupid retarded fearspreading coupled with shooter elitism and "oh, no! Dragon Effect" as if it would ever happen and how much would it hurt people to get a grip before posting?

that sounds like something in an arcade, with you clicking to hit this or that way to get combos, its far from what I wish to see in an RPG

You know, for all the ME2 fears running rampant around here, ME2 was a great game and even if DA2 turned out exactly like it, it would still be a great game. I'm not saying I *want* DA2 to be like ME2, because there's reasons I liked DAO better than both ME games (despite it being more flawed). I just think it's funny that, to bash DA2 people compare it to AAA titles that were financially successful and critically well-received (ie Assassin's Creed 2, God of War, Oblivion).
I mean really, you could do so much worse. And I think ME2 was a vast improvement over 1. I hope I feel the same about DA2.

They remove origins, and race choice, and it may be other things like removal of a real inventory and armors for all the companions might happen, sorry but for me not many positive confirmed news happened yet to keep me optimistic, althought I am no doomsayer neither. Comparison with Mass Effect changes are realistic, especially since in one of the interviews they themself confirmed the game is getting streamlined and pointed to ME similarities.

You kind of are doomsaying when you say things like "they might remove inventory and companion armor" since there's absolutely NOTHING to even hint that that's happening. Taking the conversation wheel from ME does not mean they're taking everything else from it wholesale, that's a bit ridiculous.

the screenshot of Hawke shows a very detailed armor with cloth parts, it does have a chance that a lot more detail like this means something like that, but of course the opposite is also true
just as there is no confirmation on the change, that it won't be like in ME2 is also unconfirmed

Links please? I don't think they would just say something like that, even if it is true, because they are aware that is exactly what doomsayers are... doom-saying.
If one of the Devs was actually oblivious enough to say such a thing I wanna see it

Huh. Well then rather than browsing I guess I'll just assume you're making it up.
I guess I have no official evidence that streamlining (including the armor system you mentioned) is even likely to happen for DA2. While some speculation is alarmist and, if true, could make me post angrily on the forums, what news I've heard so far isn't bad. Some of it is good!
Conclusion: DRAGON'S PEAK STANDS WITH THE OP!
SOUTH REACH STANDS WITH THE OP!

Looking at the success this system has had in Mass Effect 2, will BioWare
look at making the RPG elements in games such as Star Wars: The Old Republic
and the forthcoming Dragon Age sequel more streamlined too?
Yeah, to a certain degree. Like I said, we want to make each game better than
the last and to a certain degree, the easier we can make the gameplay while
maximising the depth of the game's detail, is something to aim for. We
announced Dragon Age 2 a short while ago and of course we've been talking
about Star Wars: The Old Republic for a while now – and people have had a
chance to play it and probably see what some of our objectives are with the
game. We try to do a lot of focus testing and usability testing with our
fans. We're always trying to make our games as fun and easily usable as
possible.

Ouch. I apologize. Sorry about that Joriansdrake, I was just tired of some people acting like their fears were confirmed. Still, that doesn't excuse what I said. =/
I'll just... dissapear from this thread until all memory of my screwup here is forgotten. That'll be at page 5, I think
Sorry again!

nevermind, as said, I HOPE my fears won't become reality ... but sadly the loss of origins and races which I never even thought I should fear of their loss is also reality
currently I am pessimisticly-optimist what means I hope to get only good news instead of more about streamlining and ME2-like changes

As we are getting more and more info about the game, my concerns doesn't exists no more.
My Warden has done his job, it's time for Hawke to take his place and explore the world from a new viewpoint.
As long as I can customize Hawke, I don't mind if I have to play as him/her.
I belive that we'll get a way more intresting and deeper Origin story than we had in DA:O, in exchange for the only Human thing.
