Did the devs from ME2 even work on Dragon Age? I thought BW had split into 3-4 different teams?
I was talking about BioWare as a whole.

I'd love more text only dialogue that would expand player options and quality of the dialogue, unfortunately it's not practical in this day and age and I'm one of the few in that rare breed. Everything needs a voice these days, even the merchant whose only like is "What would you like?"
Not that rare.
I'd prefer less VO and more options as well.

Maybe you know more games then I do. I mean in the past few years the only semi-successful RPG that didn't employ full voice acting was Drakensang, and that is now switching over to full voice acting. Neverwinters Night 2 was a bit back. I know of a few isometrics recently but they've all been indy. What non-indy RPG's in the past few years haven't used full voice acting, I'm curious so I can check them out?

I think you misunderstood what I was replying to specifically.
Your wanting more options and less VO is not as rare as you think - that's all.
The "single MC, cinematic gameplay, fake choices" pseudo-RPG is ubiquitous, I agree.

I agree with the OP, and have been harping on that for some time. But Bioware has told players like us to F*** off in a very polite way.
So yeah, not gonna happen.
I mean, why use your imagination and fill in how your own character sounds when some voice actor can do it for you?
Some people have lazy minds I guess. To a point thats understandable as the brain uses 20 times as much energy as a muscle of the same size.
Still...lazy minds...*shakes his head*

I dont' have a lazy mind at all. Fact is a lot of people did ask for VO in this game, seeing as you obviously do not work for Bioware who are you to say who is and isnt' the majorit on this? I know I can't.
If you don't like the VO try this: Turn down the volume and imagine away, same effect as before, or is that just too much work?
Why your quoting myself and Bryy is beyond me, as all we are simply saying is that you have no idea how it's going to work in the game as it's not even out yet.

And twitch gamers asked for more twitch gaming elements. Doesn't mean it should have been put in.

Why pick lines from a tree that some game designer wrote when you could actually make them up yourself in a pnp game? What, are you too lazy to play tabletop?
*I hope people get that that was sarcasm.

Stop crying please. Bioware will do the games they want to do and you will buy them regardless - if for no other reason than to pick every flaw apart as reason why they should build the games YOU want rather than what anyone else wants.

Pretty much.
CRPGs started as an attempt to translate PnP mechanics into a computer enviroment and there are people who still believe that this is what CRPGs should strive to do. Ignoring obviously, that the gaming industry and what makes a game competitive has changed.

Dragon age was that game, and sold very well. So that is not quite true based off being competitive.
What changed is that EA bought Bioware.
To them is seems that to appeal to a mass market you apparently have to get away to what made one successful to try to capture the Modern Warfare and Madden crowd because they buy lots of games.
So yeah, naturally that will make the people that have been loyal (perhaps up to now, having in their eyes been betrayed) Bioware customers a little testy.

What changed is that EA bought Bioware.
*yawn* So Bioware got more money and support to continue putting out excellent games and DLC.
The only cost is a lack of quality which probably only lives in the imaginations of disenfranchised fans like you.
I have played every Bioware game and they are just as damn good as Baldur's Gate.
They just aren't the same.

Damn, was hoping you had a couple of hidden gems for me to play. Ah well, sorry for the confusion there.

Certainly can't argue with that logic there. Not sure I've ever seen such a thoughtful response to anything in my life. Well played.

And there are others like you, who simply will buy everthing they do, even if it was solitaire.
Imo some of the "excellent" DLCs already were mediocre, the same way as Awakening.

I enjoyed Awakening for what it was.
A pity some can't enjoy what they have and instead pine away for what they selfishly want it to be.
If you don't like it don't pay for it. But I have a feeling most everyone here, being the hardcore fans they are, will be buying this offering from Bioware.
And yes, all the DLC was good. Some were better than others. Mass Effect 2's DLC is thus far utterly superior to DA:O's.
