Well, reagarding Origins, we know the rogues and warriors behaviours are not so much distinctive. In fact, rogues are the best DPSer (with the dual weapons talents trees) , and for me, it's quite not a logical thing.Warriors must be masters in a battle field or at least better than rogues, aren't they?
So no, we know, in DA2, the both classes will have differents roles and behaviours: rogues like ninja and warriors will be the nags ones.So rogues could be weaker but quicker than warriors.

So, does it mean we'll have a new system for martial talent and weapon specialisation to make able a class behaviours differenciation? With the new cooldown sytem for each actions we make (check the pad control: 6 various attacks), it sounds different from Origins where basic actions have no cooldown.

(sorry, can't find better words to explain my thought, :(,English's not my native language)

I remember seeing in the interview somewhere that warriors will be more than meatshields in DA2. At the same time, it makes sense for rogues to be quicker and smarter, and hence do more damage. Why should a warrior wearing a heavy plate and carrying a large sword or a shield do more DPS than a rogue?

So a longsword do less dmg than a dagger irl?

No but a quick rogue with TWO daggers can do more damage then a slow heavy armored warrior with a longsword.

Besides I was talking more about two-handed swords. Rogues can wield longswords just fine.

ok, but my question was not about what kind of weapons deals the most damages, but which class should suits to the damage dealers, regarding the backroung of these classes, a warrior (the nag) is trained to fight with every weapons to deal heavy hits , while a rogue (the ninja) is trained to hit with accuracy. So should their talents must be different in a same talent tree like the dual weapon or ranged wepon ones?

I see, you mean for example different dual-weapon talents for warriors and rogues. I agree with that. I am all for divorcing rogues from warriors as much as possible. The devs probaly don't have time for that much work though.

Yes, you hit! That's exactly what I tried to say

and what do we learn from the GI interview?

"Still have only the three classes--this time, they want each class to
feel different. A warrior is like an unstoppable tank/killing machine on
the field, a rogue is quick, ninja-like, and a mage is like "field
artillery" and blows away everyone from a range. They're trying to avoid
overlapping with roles and abilities.
"

that's what I thought : the devs could make such a surprise by making rogues and warriors more differents in roles and abilities, perhaps we could get this time different talents for the same trees according to the class.

Yeah, I didn't really get the point of rogues in DA:O to be honest.

The way I kinda see it, If Warriors would be Aragorn from LoTR then Rogues should be Legolas (Sorry for bringing in LoTR to a DA discussion but I feel that it works here).

But that would mean however that the Devs would need to make a lot of cool moves for rogues like stabbing an enemy through the head with an arrow and then using that same arrow to shoot at an enemy from long range and other really stylish/lithe moves like that (I'm not saying they have to rip off all of Orlando Blooms moves but if they could base it off his character then that would work)

They'll both kill you just as dead, and a fast, lightly-armored fighter with a lightweight weapon will probably kill you dead faster than a big, lumbering fighter with a big, lumbering weapon.

So yes, it makes perfect sense for rogues to deal out higher DPS than a warriors. The trade-off is that they're more vulnerable, which again makes perfect sense, considering their relative lack of armor and lower natural endurance.

I just hope that the rogue doesn't turn out to be a 'super ninja' like the devs have been saying. I'd rather like the rogue to be a dirty fighter (a real rogue) with low armour but can still smack a two-handed hammer on someone's head, after he threw sand in the man's face.
