Something in the style of the elves from Hellboy 2. Not exactly like them, I don't think it would work for  video game, but an alien enough design that still holds unconventional beauty.

There changing the bodys for everyone....plus changing the body shape is a tweak. Its not exactly adding horns and white skin.

Just give them wings, to distinct them from humans, please.

Then I guess the PC gameplay for Dragon Age II is going to be crazy different since they said they're only tweaking it.

Making them look like a chicken isn't a tweak. That's a complete charcter redesign.

Good, now let's hear what radical designs you'll like to see for the dwarves? Beards for female dwarves probably? Seeing as some of you so love the beard of Hawke, you know.

Nah. I say they take the chimp arms, and run with them. Essentially their arms should be like a gorilla's.

Seriously though, they should fix the chimp arms.

How about like this, they are taller, they have glowing eyes (just a minor glow, with a sad look in it), they walk with grace, and is submersive to humans in a butlery kind of way. Taller because i just want taller elves. The "very faint" eye glow to symbolize that they were once innate with magic but now they can only see in dimmer lights. And they are slaves not in a slavery kind of way but with regality in it, like a butler or a royal handmaiden.

don't even suggest this, some people will seriously start to demand beards for female dwarves, or worse, for  female elves (although I have nothing against elven males with facial hair)

I know the redesign is going to be minor compared to the Qunari but I was just wondering what everyone's thoughts were on the matter.

I, personally, would like them to look a tiny bit less human. The elves looked far too much like humans in DA:O. However I would hate them to lose the humanoid factor. Just change small things that link the race together.

I'm hoping for something like this:

Art by me

No philtrum groove/dimple. Small pupils. Longer ears. Longer neck.

It's not going to happen, but hey, girl can dream. :kissing:

Very nice picture, and I would agree with you. Elves are beautiful creatures, or atleast they were. In my opinion years of slavery has ruined both they culture and appearance. But I would like to see Dalish more stunning as they reclaimed some of their heritage. Like making city elves all having black or brown hair and Dalish to be blond.

Well I do. They're not manly enough to even begin thinking about growing a beard.

Great picture!  I like your ideas, especially for the eyes.  I'm hoping the changes are more subtle like this.  I don't think the elves should look too alien, the fact that they are so similar to humans to me makes the racism more poignant to me.  Though I would love it if they could animate their ears to make them more emotive, that would be cute.

I'm hoping for something more in line with Warhammer elves, taller slimmer and with a bit of an alien feel to them.

And definitely none of the musclebound donkey-eared Warcraft Bullpoop.

Anime: Big Eyes, Small mouth, that exchanges dimensions when verbally loud.

Truth be told I would love if there would be anime-like verbal fights, and panty shots too, it would also be Brook approved! =]

I'd just like elven males to be the same height or slightly taller than human females in game. My straight elf males couldn't embark upon any romances in DA:O, because they share my attitude towards height. Same goes for my female humans being unable to get it on with Zevran. He was simply too short.

Am I weird? Probably.

Yes.
You should learn to mix things up a bit.

I don't want them any taller. I liked that they were short. But I'd say give them more of swimmer's build. Very lean and smooth, but undeniably strong. I'd hesitate to change their faces too much, but maybe make them a bit more angular as long as they don't look freakish. The problem is, if an elf covers his/her ears they just look like short humans. So a general change in body type to make them look more exotic. Also the hair color should be otherworldly. No purple or green anime hair, but an aging elf who's gone grey should have silver hair where humans would be more white, blond should be more gold than yellow, the darker colors should have a sort of shine to them like polished wood. And the eyes. I think in one of the books elves are said to have cat-like eyes. I wouldn't mind seeing that. Iris color also should be very distinctive from that of humans.

I really like your picture first off, but I'd like you to try making the eyes perhaps a bit more angled with the actual flow of the face.

I'd like to see elves stay the same generally for the sake of continuity. Meaning, I don't want their height to fluxuate wildly, or their skin color to vary into the realms of absurd. I don't particularly care if they attempt on making them look a bit more fey-like by giving them bigger ears--It's not my cup of tea, but I could live with it.

I'd like to see:

-a more lithe and sinuous build structure

-more angular eyes

-specific tribal tattoos, perhaps...

----etc.

But I can't play as an elf, so I suppose I am going to have to just grumble about the cusomization options for human.

Anyone know if there's still a myriad of weapons in DA2? I don't really want to fight like a bronze-age **** if I don't have to.
