I like the elves in Lord of the rings, Those guys could step on crap and look good doing it. I swear every time the Elves came out in that trilogy they looked so clean and white it reminded me of that dude in that movie where everywhere he went his hair was blowing and there was a mysterious light coming out of him.

To the subject, I really like the way the elves look. I think they should have more slender bodies though. :s

That's a little TOO alien looking for me (alien as in non-human).  That being said, your artwork is absolutely GORGEOUS!

I'd like the elves to be less bony.  Lithe=good, bony=bad.

That would be great. Just alien enough for people to understand they are a different species, but close enough to what people expect elves to look like.

Also didn't they mention elves have unnerving eyes in the novels?
That eye design fits that pretty well.

Very nice picture, and I would agree with you. Elves are beautiful creatures, or atleast they were. In my opinion years of slavery has ruined both they culture and appearance. But I would like to see Dalish more stunning as they reclaimed some of their heritage. Like making city elves all having black or brown hair and Dalish to be blond.

So black and brown is ugly, but blonde is beautiful?

I think the redesigns for the Qunari, Dwarves, and Elves are supposed to get people in the mindset that they are not just large, short, or pointy eared humans. So no, not just humans with pointy ears.

I like the artwork op but the elf's or elves should be a bit better looking.
 
Probably my favourite origin in dao, used a mod so my elf would have big ears.

elves looked just like smaller human models with sharp ears. Blizzard done best 'elf" job with night elves , ears are tubular , long and look like elf ears should instead of cheap makeup look of attaching fake attachments to your ear . Also body shape should be different from human and so on .

Or at least stick to good old Tolkein and have them as fairy race , light skinned and prettier then humans .

Wouldn't facial hair make them appear more human? I don't think I can remember one fanatsy game where they elves had facial hair.

There are some really nice ideas being thrown around here. I do disagree on making them taller if they keep their current appearance. If their size changes then there will be no difference between humans and elves apart from slightly pointed ears; unless they become taller than humans themselves but that would bring them too close to the Qunari even if they are less muscular. I think the humans are best between the two. They make a familiar middle ground for the player.
