...like, instead of pressing a button and waiting a moment for your character to get in place, something happens immediately.
Well, BioWare, if you're going this route, why not look to Demon's Souls for inspiration? Few games have combat as fun and battles as satisfying as Demon's Souls; it would be very interesting to see Demon's Souls absolutely fantastic combat adapted in to a party-based gameplay structure.
So I heard DA2 is going to have more action-oriented gameplay

It will be very similar to DA:O. What they said is that it will be more responsive and work better. It is not going to be an "action" RPG like Fable.

RPG like Fable
Fable
How... how could you bring up Fable in a discussion like this?
Such lowbrow hack n' slash garbage has no place in a discussion about two games with far more strategically-oriented gameplay.

Well unfortunately we don't know how strategically oriented DA2 will be at this moment, there was a wide range of thoughts and opinions from CominCon.

I absolutely agree with batman90. I think the future of video games holds more Demon's Soul like gameplay. It's more realistic and engaging. I just don't want to see games anymore where you can keep stabbing enemies and the only effect it has is that a portion of their "health bar" goes down.

It sounds as if the action is smoother and that the console version is fast paced to me. They've said the PC version is very similar to the original PC of DA:O.

Having actions respond quicker to controls is not a gameplay change. It is a bug fix. There's absolutely no reason why Alastair should stand around for a few seconds while an enemy archer runs away instead of executing his order.

I heard the Beard of Duncan is making a cameo. It's just speculation at this point, but I'm very optimistic.

yep, pure balance
granted nerfing the difficulty would be more logical in Bioware's case should they ever go that route
