I am running the PC (digital download from EA store) version of Mass Effect 1. I have both DLC (Pinnacle Station and Bring Down the Sky) as well as the 1.02 update. I have played through the game before and I never really paid much attention to it until recently. The tiles on the planet terrains seem out of place or "checker board" like. Here is a picture.

My System Details are as follows:

Intel Pentium 2 Quad Core Q8200 2.33 ghz
ATI Radeon HD 5770 (ASUS EAH5770) 1 GB Ram (Catalyst Driver 10.7)
   5 GB RAM
   Windows 7 64 bit
   Direct X 11

My graphics card is new and I haven't had any problems with it so far. I haven't tried out the other games I have yet but I am sure I am sure this graphical error has been there prior to the upgrade.

I have looked through the forum and online and I have not seen anyone with similar problems. To be honest, I haven't seen many pictures of planet terrain, online either, so I am not sure if its just the way the game is supposed to look or not. This problem is only on deserted planets. Main quest areas doesn't seem to have the same problem.

I honestly don't see anything wrong there. If you are talking about the long dark green line on the ground just above the mako with the brighter green line opposite to it, It's supposed to be like that.

Tell me if i'm missing something. :/

Hmm, is it? I thought it was a tile error. Especially the mountain areas. The tiles don't seem to "fit" or look right to me. I guess it is just the art of the area. You sometimes get these "misplaced" tiles in MMOs if you don't upgrade your graphic card driver. (ie. Road tiles on mountains, wood floor panel tiles in the middle of a grassy plain, etc.) I thought it was something akin to that. I guess I am just picky. Well you just saved me from scouring the boards for another few days for an apparent non existent problem. Hah. Thanks!
