Happens with most of the light helmets based on this model. Always.

Do I need to say any more?

If anyone else has had that problem, I certainly never saw it mentioned, but "Bioware" isn't supposed to be here on a standard basis anyway (read the headers of the forum for content), so addressing anything to them is (normally) just a waste of time. We have a currently assigned employee from QC reading the forum and answering about patch 1.04.  Anyway, IMO, when no one else reports having that problem, then it's not really a bug at all.

I have the issue as well. The reason this happens is because hair models are removed when hats are on, otherwise the hair would clip through the hat. BioWare obviously never made a little filler piece there, but honestly, the gap is so small that it's hardly noticeable in-game, and hats are always removed during cutscenes so there's no real danger of seeing it there either.

Well...

1.) Bioware is in the forum. Just look around, the devs do post here and there.

2.) Everyone has this bug. It's a simple model error with that helmet.

Just wanted to add that the "studded helmet" model is also affected. When I switched Lelianas helmet to this kind her head remained "empty" (you can interpret this just as you like *g*).

I don't know what Gorath Alpha means by "Bioware isn't supposed to be here," as this is a Bioware support forum and not labeled as a self-help forum. This is Bioware's game and Bioware's forum and we have to adhere to Bioware's rules when posting here.
That being said, I've never seen this bug, but four patches - not including hotfixes - something every patch has required and not always received) have, as you say, not addressed several glaring issues. It is painfully clear that Bioware does not have an adequate allocation to QA to support their game. Those few members of the Bioware staff only do drive-by announcements, never answering the tough questions; or they stop by to participate in flame wars or admonish angry posters (presumably while on their breaks). This Bioware is not the Bioware of ten years ago. This Bioware is much closer to Obsidian Entertainment in their unresponsiveness and their refusal to even acknowledge day-one bugs that break/void content in their own game. This is counter-intuitive behavior, yet seems as hard to eradicate as it is to understand. And I see no evidence of change.

Well I'm not a fool. Admitting problems is a little bit like negotiating with terrorists: Once you've done it, everyone will start their own demands, afflictions, flame wars and so on.

To be honest I don't expect an answer. But I used some of my time to:

- play the game, find the bug
- report it here

so that Bioware gets to know of the problem. I just hope for a quick and silent fix with the next patch. That's really all I'd like to see happening!

You must be new here.

(Seriously, that was not meant as a snide remark toward you, GODzilla_GSPB, and I do not mean to say that your efforts are anything but the proper course of action. However, Bioware is anything but quick to respond to these issues, publicly or otherwise. Many other issues of equal or greater severity have persisted since the game's release 9 months ago without even being acknowledged by Bioware despite being repeatedly brought up in these forums. I say this to make it clear I had no intention to offend, but also to give you a clear idea of what to expect from this developer.)

(Which is, to say, publisher.  BioWare are owned by EA and as a publicly traded corporate giant, EA have no intent on spending time or money supporting products in a way that does not directly generate revenue.  I'm sure if regulations permitted, BioWare staff would be posting here far more frequently; the fact that it took months of community complaints to even open up a communications channel to BioWare shows how restrictive EA's policies are, and how little we can expect from them once a game has been released.  Why fix bugs when there's sequels and paid DLC to make?

The fact that it took months and months to get 1.04 out, which caused even more issues for a great many users, and that BioWare went quiet again immediately after release, makes me suspect that we will not be getting any more support.  Such a shame; I just hope the "one multi-million-selling triple-A game per year" expectation EA has of BioWare doesn't burn out all its talent.)

Are we talking about how some full face helms turn character's faces into floating eyeballs? (Can't see your pic so can't tell). If so, I don't regard that as a bug, just a lazy shortcut. It's no more a bug than when character portraits don't match the character model in Baldurs Gate or how the sprites in the Gold Box games don't look like anything except a spattering of colors. Somethings just can't be done or aren't worth doing.

Also, this is a self help forum:

This forum is for fans and owners of Dragon Age: Origins to assist each other with technical questions. Official game support is provided by Electronic Arts, but fans are encouraged to try to assist each other here.

No, it's about light helmets turning female characters back of the head into an empty void when you peek under the helmet from behind. ;)

Weird, I've never noticed this. But I can't zoom in that close, either. Hmm... This reeks of conspiracy ;-)

Just place the character near a wall. Of course I didn't do that on purpose, I found this by accident on my first playthrough shortly after the initial release of DA.

Figured it would be more prominent, obviously it's not. ^^
