I have finally completed Dragon Age: Awakenings, but discovered a bug that prevents the game from finishing. Upon confronting the Mother and defeating her, the cutscene plays out where the main character kills The Mother and then there is the epilogue where you learn what happens concerning the various npcs and areas in Awakenings. However once that endst, the cutscene where The Mother is killed plays again...goes to a loading screen at the end, and then plays again...and again...and again...even hitting the Escape key to end the cutscene short does not interrupt the endless cycle.

Materials 1:  A Dragon Age: Awakenings save game file with the 1.04 patch installed.

Steps:
1)  The user progresses through Dragon Age: Awakenings until the final battle to kill The Mother.
2)  Defeat The Mother.
3)  A video cutscene where The Mother is killed plays.
4)  The epilogue plays.
Bug 1 (10/10):  The video cutscene where The Mother is killed plays after the end of the epilogue.
Bug 2 (10/10):  The video cutscene plays repeatedly.

Note:  The user is unable to progress past this point and must force quit using the Windows Task Manager.

I do not know if this is an issue with the 1.04 patch or not as I did not finish the game before installing this patch. I also do not know if this is class/race specific or even relating to the choices you make where the epilogue plays out, but I will add what may or may not be pertinent information:

Dalish Elf Warrior
Dual Wield Spec
Wearing full Sentinel Armor and wielding Vigilance and Dumat's Spine
Saved Vigil's Keep and razed Amaranthine
Had the following in my party: Sigrun, Nathaniel and Velanna
Recruited the additional following NPCs: Ogrhen, Anders, Justice

I hope this helps, and that I have provided enough information for the QA team to fix the issue.

EDIT: I was able to break the cycle, but I had to go through the cutscene twenty times (yes I counted, and yes I cut them all short with the escape key :P). But the issue is still and issue and hope it gets looked at and fixed.

I had it happen to me too. I just spammed the escape key and the credits rolled eventually, but with no music.

I must say, to suddenly see the broodmother scream at me over and over again was disturbing. By any chance did you use any AoE skills? I used Rain of Arrows, Blizzard, and Inferno all at once on her when she was dying. I thought the game might have thought that I had killed her three times.

Nope, straight up melee, my main character (Elf Warrior) just soloed her while my companions dealt with the children. Strangely comforting and yet distrubing that someone else got this same bug as myself... :P

I jsut did a new replay and I also got the above problem.

What I do not like is that there is NO Epilogue save made....so it will register the savegame as never having played Awakening :'(

Anyone already figured out what to do with this problem? tbh I do not want to replay the entire game again because the ending bugged out on me -.-'

Have the EXACT same problem.
The Mother cutscene only repeated 3 times for me, but there's no epilogue save. The only reason I played through this was because I want to get all the major decisions in DAO (and expansions etc) ready for my DA2 game.

The Silverite mines bug and the Sigrun personal quest were frustrating enough without this on top of it.
