As long as the Warden doesn't speak. I would rather not want Bioware to put words in the mouth of my characters that could clash with personalities I imagined for them.
No. I'm assuming that Bioware would use th imported saves to construct the personality of the warden. ........hmmmmm then again. It would be hard to do that because not everyone was straight out good or evil. There would be those who made just as many evil choices as good ones making it extremely hard to accurately craft the warden's personality so I understand why people would say it's a terrible idea.
Yeah your right. But I hope we at least get to see our warden, even if we don't get to interact with he or she
Not hard to do, impossible. You could have a character who's Lawful Good as they come and still hates people and hates getting along with them. You could have a snarky badass angry fellow. A gentle, dimwitted naive fool. They can't, they can't match every personality.

I don't understand why I cannot see a short cutscene of my character fighting, say bandits or darkspawn at Lothering before other NPCs drag me away to safety.

Maybe we could see our character entering Lothering? I mean, thats the best part for the Warden to make an appearance, since to this part no matter what Origin you chosen or whats you personality, you're still stuck with Morrigan and Alistair. It would be awesome to see, as Hawke, my Warden walking into Lothering, in silence, with Alistair and Morrigan following him and in the middle of a discussion. lol

I would be neat but I don't think it'll happen. I, personally, would like a statue of my warden erected somewher ein commemoration of how she ended the Blight.
This, at least, would be quite simple - and nice to see. Also, finding books about him and the choices he made (sacrificed himself or performed the ritual, put Alistair on the throne...), hearing people chat about him in taverns ("I heard he was searching for that witch who had a child from him", or "he travels with a redhead bard"...).

Hell, I bet they may even add the warden + their LI travelling together (if that was the ending your warden achieved). It would be "unthinkable" and "cool" thats for sure.
Just like the moments in baldur's gate where an NPC party gets to "Reload" their game after your party slaughtered them for speaking like jerks, and allow him to do the dialogue again. These moments are hilarious.

Unless it is story wise but only place they would be seen is in Lothering as the game sounds to move in the Free Marches soon after.

Dont you people listen to the news, they said that you will visit battles or places in DAO in DA2 from a different perspective. I bet you will see the Wardan from afar, but not hear thier voice.
And since it transfers the save game, the Warden will look the same.

The Warden wont be dead, because it starts when the warden is still alive. The village of Lothering and whatever else.

Thread should have ended here.
No really? "Hey Hawke, came in this game for a brief cameo to out star you so that everyone will /emoquit the game and get back into DA:O."

No. This is a terrible, terrible idea.
^This, perhaps it wouldn't be so bad seeing him in the distance, or having a cutscene where he walks past you. Or Hawke dreams about having seen him in Lothering killing darkspawn or bandits and that was what inspired him to become a champion. I wouldn't mind cameo's from other NPCs and party members but I'd rather not see the Warden and have to interact with him.
*Note: I say he because my main wardens are a Cousland and an Aeducan male, or rather my first was a Cousland and the one I'm just wrapping up atm is an Aeducan.

Why would you want to run into your old hero companion when you already have your new hero companion? and the only thing I could see happening is a fight or a small talk interaction. If you fight and actually beat your old PC it would crush your ego you had of the mighty demon slayer in orgins

That would be something. I know it's probably extremely difficult but we can always hope.
No.
Although you'll definetly hear about him/her.
