I know that you can manage to keep Lielana if you have high confidence with her, and manage an intimidate check if she's with you, or lie to her back to the warcamp by telling her you did nothing to the ashes.
However, with Wynn it seems there's a problem, if she's with you, she'll turn on you, even if you convince Leliana not to, if she's not with you, back to the warcamp she'll just leave your party without even giving you a chance to trick/lie/intimidate her.

So, what I want to ask is: Is it possible to have Wynn and have desacrated the sacred ashes of Andraste in the same game? What happens if I go to desacrate the ashes before I recruit Wynn? Will she learn of what I did later anyway and leave me? Or just flat out refuse to join?

Edit: I'm sorry, I just realized that perhaps I posted this in the wrong section... maybe one moderator could move this to the Storyline and Plot subforum?

I've heard of other people recruiting Wynne after the sacred ashes part to keep her from leaving, though if she is in your party or back at camp when you do the deed, she will always leave.

He's right. As long as your confronted by Leliana at camp before recruiting Wynne, (since you can lie to Leliana with a high persuasion) Wynne won't leave. It seems that a confrontation only happens once, and on the PS3 Wynne never left as long as I defiled it prior to recruiting her.
