I know Cythandria who you meet in the Iron Throne building is supposed to have Sarevok's dairy on her. I let her live but demanded her possessions. But I'm not sure I got them. There was a two handed sword and some jewellery on the floor but no diary. Were those her possessions? Where's the diary then? Is it vital that I have the diary?
I want to go save duke Eltan but I have to fight through all the Flaming Fist morons to get to him. I take a huge hit to my rep if I kill them (like 25). I tried to just walk through them all but they all follow me into the duke's room. I suppose I could try to disable them somehow and deal with the doppleganger but I've tried that in the past to get rid of people I don't want to kill and they just persist in following me, determined to throw themselves on my sword like the wildlife of Morrowind. Is there a way I can rescue the duke without killing Benjy and the lads?
And on an unrelated note, I played BG one and two years ago, and vaguely remember going through some sort of portal to a jungle and a yuan-ti temple. I recently played BG 2 again and didn't get that, so I thought it must have been in 1. Which game was it, and how did I miss it?
Thank you very much indeed.

Hi. I think I'm just about ready to confront Sarevok but I have a couple of questions before I proceed. I don't want to check a guide or walkthrough because I don't want to read too much and spoil it for myself, so I hope you can help.

That´s weird. She should probably have given it to you. Maybe you had full inventory and it got dropped on the floor?
It´s vital that you have the diary. Check the place thoroughly again. Try the containers in the back room also. If you can´t find it, use the console to give one to you.
Neither Cythandria nor her ogres uses sword, so I don´t know what that find was about.

I haven´t seen a Yuan-ti temple in either game. I have seen one in Icewind Dale, though, but that was located in a cavern system in snow-covered mountains and not in a jungle...

It is possible to use a note found on Slythe or Krystin instead of the diary.jiansonz wrote...

Going through a portal to a yuan-ti temple in the jungles of Chult is part of IWD2.Phil5000 wrote...
