As an overweight individual myself I find some of the comments in this thread insulting, and i'm willing to bet that at least 3rd of the people writing in these forums are overweight too.

Which ones are insulting? just wondering if they are mine... if not then nvm :P

The stereotypes mostly that we can't run without haveng a heart attack (lol which is just stupid), and that we look "disgusting"? Not everybody needs to look like a freaking supermodel you know. Besides being large just ads to my personality :P.

Besides, speaking of fat me characters I recall that officer Eddie Lang had a pretty chubby face that didn't match his body. And that batarian "ambassador" from galaxy was fat.

Steryotypes sometimes is born out of repetition.

If you mean when I said about running for the normandy... it is a well known that higher weight means slower velocity. Higher weight means less distance when humping.

If you were referring to me, didn't mention "can't" run... I did imply however severely reduced speed.... that also goes for jumping.

High Weight, is prone to health issues. Personally is not something I would... hold to be proud of. While my metabolism is fast enought o provide me with a skiny body since was lucky enough to get my dad's genetic make up. Nevertheless that beer gut is something I can aquire if I do not perform "daily" situps, and is not something I would be proud of having, not only due to my own personal taste regarding physical composition, but also due to the health risk that come from it.

On that, being large, prone to be large, is just in the same scale as being prone to have arthritis, or being prone to have asthma, or a number of different genetic pre conditions that might be aquired from one or both parents

Due to my mother side of the family entire history of every damn female having some sort of very very bad disease, like liver problems, kidney problems, cholesterol I am in great risk of developing them if I dont take care of myself.
Being proud of the fact that my health is at risk for my own negligence... is ackward thinking for me, but thats your boat and your call.
====

Disgusting... now that wasn't me, so nvm about that.

-----

Now come to mention it, the batarian guy was chubby, never played galaxy but did some a few screenies, and the guy was large in comparison to the average Batarian.

I really want the happy ending for ME3 to involve Shepard settling down with his love interest and piling on the pounds fat!Apollo style. Because a fat man is a happy man.

Totally. And hydrogenated oils, trans fats, and all the other wonderful substances that Big Food has inflicted upon humanity in the name of the Almighty Dollar.

Why are there no fat characters? In the words of Aleksandr Orlov - "Simples!"

Because to save time and money in development, and to allow the creation of higher quality models, all use the same base. It's generally only very important plot characters who get their own - Squadmates, one or two crew members (such as Joker), etc.

By the time ME takes place they will have come up with like a magic weight loss pill or something. I don't know. Who cares?

Yeah, but none of them work. At all. In the future, maybe they do. Again, does it matter? Shepard and the squadmates aren't fat becasue they're running around in combat and all that jazz.

I think it takes away from the game that there are no children, fat characters, or more female aliens. It makes the game more bland and boring. They need to make Mass effect 3 more realistic!!!

hey I just have spent too much time with mordin... just stating facts... larger mass per mind is more ..."profitable"?? or ... well not profitable, more effective I guess.

I'd like to see some overweight people in Mass Effect 3. While extremes are never a good thing (As with that Tali picture posted a bit further up this page), big is beautiful.

Shepard is the last action hero.

No old, fat, or unattractive people allowed around him.

\\

what about as enemies?.... shooting the big fat evil guy as he knows he can't move nor call for help is fun.

Like Jabba... nothing mroe satisfying than killing everyone around him, only to slowly close in with the lightsaber.....sigh

Still.

First. Chawkas is old, so dont insult my virtual 2nd mother. Bad idea.

2nd. Krogan are considered big... so there, you all get your big... they dont got big fat bellies, but fat humps... and the bigger the more attractive apparently in their species, so you want fat? you got wrex.... and grunt.

Unnatractive people....are there really any unnatractive people in ME??...can't remember anyone that is on our good side or helping us that is unattractive....maybe Udina... btu the dude is old and stressed out..

1st. We got old people around us.

2ndSo there, we got fat... Krogans, the fatter, the more attractive.

3rd there are plenty of unnatractive people and they are our friends... like Conrad... and Mess Sergeant gardner.....jack, isn't pretty either, but thats coz she has crystal ball fashion.

So there, we got everything, no need to mess around with those things alot.

I rather they spend their time actually making the game more indepth, coz they really let go in ME2.

That implies that you can't have both depth and varied character models in a game, though, which is false considering that so many modern games have both gameplay depth and varied stylistic elements.

:unsure:so being a limited mind called human is smarter? luckily using only 10% of the human brain for conscience, logic, and creativity... it's like you have to live within your SUB-conscience/2nd state of mind/beta-length just to be human...a species that can easily exist in a state of amnesia/paramnesia...

it's to say if being human itself was a lie pulled over the earth's eyes created by the machines, my lame sarcasm attempt regarding the matrix (as a joke)...

what if we were meant to be green blooded elves or blue smurfs?... what if you only had 3 or 4 fingers instead of 5? why did nature design us to be human? what if our species was to evolved from canines instead of simians? if evolution was factual, and life is all chemical, could it occur elsewhere in the universe with similar settings? what if their sentient species evolved from other predecessors like goat for instance...instead of simian (or canine else where) ?

Whoa.  Thought I'd stumbled into timecube.com for a second there.

Hey, it's a legitimate complaint. Not everyone finds a single body type equally pleasant to look at.

Now a days,e xpecting bioware to go out with flying colors is a dream... gota lower the bar otherwise we will always be dissapointed.

Because we mostly only see soldiers and mercenary. The former of which has gene therapy to improve their capabilities, the latter of which you need to be fit to survive.
