There are also no children in the Mass Effect universe. Everyone must be born as a slim adult apparently.

Don't forget alien women... theres is none.

Well there are Quarian women but I never thought about all the other races....  Good point that there are a real lack of females.  The Asari can't count being nearly asexual.  They likely just evolved with breasts so that they would have attractive features to other races.  Or like the bar conversation you may or may not have listened to where every race thinks Asari look like them.  They may just have the best mind control.

Children though don't really fit in the Mass Effect world.  They didn't fit into Fallout either.  It's better not having to worry about killing kids or anything like that.

Well, of course, complaining about a lack of females in other alien races would presuppose the condition that having two "sexes" is a common evolutionary trait on a cosmic scale.

The norm on Earth is probably going to prove to be very different when compared to the rest of the universe.

It isn't about fat/thin, its about model. All ME charcaters (of the same race and gender) use the very same model. Just like in the super-mario days, when all the mushrooms looked the same.

Or perhaps it's an evolutionary "function"? Asari, biologically, function as the mothers. They seem to be somewhat human-like, so it's not a stretch to imagine that the breasts formed as mammary glands - just like on human females, bovines and other mammals. Just because your cat doesn't have a couple of pairs swinging around under her, it doesn't mean the glands aren't there.

I like the second option better.  When your in the Bar near Liara listen to the bacholer's conversation.  Each different race believe the Asari look like themselves.  It's quite a bit like the studies done on different human races where each race can't really distinguish individuals apart because of the different characteristics of each race.... Or it's just some kind of mind control or even self defense mechanism to be attactive for all races.

Most Asari don't seem to be motherly.  Even the ones that say they are mothers act more like dominant fathers.

There are fat people in the galaxy, but they have to stay on their homeworlds. Didn't you read the space ad in the space newspaper?

"We (the citizens of the galaxy) are on the lookout for bright, talented individuals for any and all positions. These include mercenaries, merchants, advertisers, polititians, or just being that person who stands around in one place until they die. If you are interested in a position in space, please forward your resume to: Space. No fatties."

Sense its the future they weeded out "the undesirables" via genetic tailoring! But yeah beyond the volus some fat people should be allowed also short (again excluding volus) and female aliens at least put the fat people on established colonies it would make sense there. It just adds to the immersion in the game not every one is a nerd or perfect so show some people that fall in between.

Captain Anderson is black too. And there are a good amount of black people as well other ethnicities roaming about as NPCs in ME1 and 2.

Or were you being sarcastic?

I can count them on one hand Anderson is the only black guy in office, Jacob your sole crew member, His dad a criminal, and in ME1 you had 1 hostage, and Mr. Batia thats it maybe more in office and NPCs or something it just seems odd ya know. Maybe some crew members even.

The "silly" answer- Better pills

The actual answer- It's too much money for Bioware to constantly make different body models for all the characters.

I'm pretty sure fat people exist in the whole ME universe, they just can't have them in game because of the limitations.

I think its safe to say in the future, due to more people wanting to look "good" and "in-shape" and advances in technology that the average human weight has probably dropped by atleast 30 pounds of pure fat, making average humans probably closer to 160, rather than 190 as it is now.

This would be my guess as well would be odd to discover how to traverse the entire galaxy before we learned how to stay fit Posted Image

Luckily using only 10% of the human brain...

Gosh people love this 'fact' even thought they always get it wrong. '10% (+-) at any given time.' Is the completed version.
Over the period of a day you would have used 100% of your brain many times over. Using 100% of your brain at any one moment will result in a fatal seizure.

Now, back to the topic....
