I kept hoping and hoping I'd see him again and then he attacked the camp and I was horrified. When he begged me to kill him and told me he'd always loved my PC, I actually cried. Then Alistair said something like "Oh he's better off dead" and I wanted to smack the crap out of him. All that time he was moping around about Duncan, who he'd known for 6 months, and I have to kill my bestest friend ever, and he's like "Ooh, sucks to be you!" I'd been romancing Alistair before that, but started cheating on him with Zevran, as I was so annoyed. :P

It kinda seems like the AI characters completely disregard your feelings once everything's out of the way, or when one thing changes. What I mean by this is when you complete the game and Alistair sacrifices himself. Nobody at all makes mention on how he was such a great friend, or how you might be feeling since he just died for you (lol). Only Wynne says something and she's like, "Yes. Alistair...who? Btw, you're the Hero of Ferelden, how does it feel?"

As a male dalish elf, it was a bit anti-climactic.

When does it happen? I only saw Tamlen again while doing the Urn of Sacred Ashes quest.

It triggers when you return to camp after the 3rd ally quest, assuming you don't have any other camp cutscenes in the queue.

The first time I had this encounter it shook me to the core. It was so unexpected that I felt the need to pause and grasp what had happened. So sad and tragic, even if I don't like Tamlen much as the player my Dalish was flabbergasted and horrified ....and so was I.

Now I still dread it with every Dalish character I play, but I swear I can hear Gaider's evil snickering somewhere when this scene is playing. Must be my imagination I think. Hmmm....

Perhaps it's because I only knew Tamlen for [exaggeration] 10 seconds [/exaggeration] at the start of the game, but his fate didn't impact me all that much. It was just kind of: "Oh, that sucks" and then continue on...

I suppose it depends on how much you can create with your imaginate. My female dalish elf, she loved Tamlen her whole life, but not only that, like someone else said.. it was like saying goodbye to the last cord that connected her to her old life. It was, in essence, accepting and acknowledging that you can never go back and your life as the Dalish is over, in essence.

Atleast, that's why it kinda upset me.. the only thing that ruined it was having Alistair, who was at -100 Hostile, come over and ask questions to then say it was better for him to die. My dalish female wanted to shoot him in the face. >.>
