I think there should be a good amount of impact from what you do in ME 1 and 2 for 3. Also I think there should be a better armor system something like ME 1 with buying. Same for the weapons as well. Marriage or stronger relationships would be nice as well to develop stronger feelings for the characters. Tali's face would be nice to see for once. Turian women or even Salarian or Krogan women would be nice to see since its more or less a big sausage fest in the galaxy at present aside from Asari, Quarians, and Humans. Also if there are specialized armors like Blood Dragon armor or Inferno Armor make the helmets better for interactions. It isn't very intimate kissing a helmet if you get me. Also the unlimited ammo from ME 1 was a nice touch if you can put that in ME 3 since being a sniper I run out of ammo quick in ME 2.

ever since the first gender capable game was out, it was announced that creating a background for a female character is a pain in the ass, because devs have to not only create a sexy lass, but also something that goes with her, so yeah, Turian/Salarian/hanar/ etc females would be appreciated, however, Krogan females and males look very alike, you wouldn't even notice the difference :D

as for Tali, yes seein her face would be so awesome it would beat the **** out of me and I would crap all my internal organs, but I will be happy enough to continue my relationship with her, and having her as a combat partner, I would like a few Solo missions for characters as well, there is potential for a game of the decade if it's done right (2x DVD9's of content) after all, we are to protect the entire damned galaxy, I don't see this ended in a few battles.

Having played through both.. this is the list I've come up with. ME2 had a way bigger impact on my gaming experience and can't really complain about it. It was amazing. Shortsided by a few bugs relating to clipping to the sky, but tolerable enough for a few more playthroughs. Great game series by the way. Loved the improvements done in ME2, just going to give a thorough feedback post from ME1 to ME2. Sorry if it sounds redundant in any way, one more voice to be heard to help contribute to a better game.

I have a decent system, DXDIAG info here..

Mass Effect 1
1 - Vehicle gathering feature of the game was fun, but maybe do some more fun/interesting encounters.

2 - I feel like it's redundant to talk about the combat system here...but the combat gameplay was not very easy, and equipment system was a burden as it seemed like you had to do something with it anytime you opened a box.

3 - Game had issues with loading (random lockups right after a loaded scene) early on. Thankfully autosave...saved the day (no pun intended)

4 - Textures were low-resolution (in several obvious known cases)

5 - UI needed tweaking, seemed very steep and confusing.

Mass Effect 2
1 - Loved the combat system. Great improvement over the first. I'm confused at the ammo clips, but dealing with it.

2 - Mining is redundant, the mouse moves too slow when in "drop probe" mode. Certain resources way more rare than others, I know this was for gameplay reasons, but possibly have certain planets drop more of the rarer resources? The ratio of resources was way imbalanced it seemed.

3 - Clipping issues took away from gameplay (frustrating loading the game multiple times) but not enough for me to stop playing altogether, tolerable, mostly. I'm very patient.

4 - UI tweaked (over ME1) with no apparent issues. Way more streamlined and I loved it.

5 - Hated some of the dialog menus how it's kind of hard to predict what is renegade and what is paragon. I'm not sure if this was a design decision but some of the texts that I thought would be renegade were actually just stern paragon phrases or had no gain/impact renegade phrases. It was hard to depict which phrase would get you which outcome.

6 - Does all the hair on the future look this bad? I'm sure not everyone has a crew cut or bald look. Not sure if this was a character design decision or limitation or what, but I felt like it was rather limited.

7 - Game felt way too easy on Normal. I played through ME2 with a brand new save file. I played as an Adept. Never once scaled down or anything, but possibly the reason why the game was easier was due to the fact of being able to recover HP from hiding til your health reset, I know this is a common/popular regeneration (seen in Halo and Call of Duty for example) so it's not necessarily a bad thing to keep, but possibly work this mechanic in a more creative way.

8 - More combat variety. I found myself shooting my pistol or whatever weapon that had the most ammo with the occasional bio power (Heavy Throw / Throw) did the job for cleaning up. All the way through the game. Never once had an issue with a frustrating point of combat compared to the first game which had very frustrating moments of not being able to heal during paused state gameplay.

9 - Random planetary gathering/scouting and then random landing of locations was nice, but didn't really feel challenging or diverse. I know they are just suppose to replicate random recon/scouting trivial gameplay, but to replace the vehicle portion of the first game it needs more. Possibly incorporate a Diablo (Blizzard Game) level generator so that the levels are random and more detailed? Not sure if this makes sense.

Mass Effect 3 (what I would like to see)
1 - Co-op mode (I know this might not be entirely possible due to the nature of the game, but possibly a separate Co-op mode similar to Red Dead Redemption's multiplayer Co-op modes)

2 - More "unique" weapons. I liked the Nuclear gun, that was hella cool, but the other guns felt like "sniper rifle" "better sniper" "pistol" "better pistol" etc... just felt very..not so ...unique. Possibly add the gun customization feature similar to the first game back in?

3 - No clipping issues (I know you are going to run the Unreal 3 engine, so I have faith)

4 - Mass Effect 3 Trilogy pack. I want to buy my girlfriend all 3 games for XMAS, but if you come out with a triple pack that includes all 3...even better. :bandit:

5 - Blend vehicle mode with planetary scout mode. Make it fun. Starcraft II-like element fun possibly.

6 - Don't bring back the entire system from ME1. The way ME2 is polished is excellent. Felt like a great game. I know you guys said you want to incorporate more RPG elements, but streamline it!

That's all I can think of for now. Thanks again Bioware & Everyone who worked on the projects for making such a great series!

Take care.

Don't remember Genophage being cured in ME2, point is, Krogan are more dangerous than Rachni, better to keep em away :)

I would like to see romance options in a pink color dialog so i cn still talk to the others i'm not interested in without being a a-hole. Plus i was thinking of resouce collection, it would go with the story of the specters being financially independent from the council, that shep could buy, or locate a large mining ship that he could send out indipendantly to collect from systems shep has visited, to that he could get up grade to it and the crew, and maybe even some side missions on the ship. It could even be tied in to paragon/renegade (Paragon less initial credits, but more over time, opposite for renegade). What do you guys think?

I know this is shocking, but I don't want any form of multiplayer or Co op mode. Mass Effect is all about making your own choices, bringing in multiplayer would mean they would have to take that element out. If I want multiplayer I go play COD or Halo. If I want awesome RPG experience I play Mass Effect. Bioware isn't about multiplayer it's about story and ME1 and 2 have been successful, because of story. So Bioware better not change that!!

I haven't had the time to play either game since I beat the second one soon after its release, so the first paragraph below is my knee-jerk response to this thread after this time away from ME but before reading other posts.  The rest is what I've come up with after reading the entire thread.  Thank you, Bioware employee(s), for considering or hopefully at least reading these posts!

The one thing that sticks in my mind as needing improvement is the notification/message interface from ME2.  Essentially, it takes up way too much space and it diverts my eyes from an otherwise beautiful and immersive (if you allow it to be) game.  I was able to remove it from the PC version (mostly), but until I found out how, it was really annoying, and I'd rather not have to mod the game to fix it.  I and a minority (probably) of others would love it you if you reverted them to ME1-level invasiveness or provided a "hide notifications" option in the menus, either of which should be a reasonable or even easy change at this point unless you're already in release candidate mode.

After reading this thread, my other thoughts for improvements are, in order of preference:
1.  Make it an even more fun and engrossing single-player game, in whatever time it takes!  I trust that you folks will do what you do well, but you never know, what with the rumors of multiplayer and all.  Coop would rock my socks off, to be fair, but the ability to explore at one's leisure should not be sacrificed.
2.  Include the ME2-3 bridge content (and major story elements like the Shadow Broker, if that's not considered bridge material) in a leveled-up edition of ME3 or in a standalone collection.  Call me old-fashioned, but I have absolutely no interest in buying a million little add-ons, even to resolve plot lines that I'm really interested in, like the Shadow Broker's.
3.  A more mouse-optimized interface for the PC version would be wonderful.  I don't mind if you have to delay the PC version to make this happen with outsourcing or whatever.  Or even a patch later on would be greatly appreciated if you want to have a synchronized launch.

And the tough stuff that you may not have time for if it's not this way already:
4.  ME1-style Citadel.  The continuity is really what I have in mind, but feel free to make it even more expansive. :D
5.  ME1-style exploration of worlds.  (Though I also really enjoyed ME2's scanning, for some reason.)
6.  ME1-style RPG elements (weapons, armour, etc. mentioned above)
7.  ME1-style per-skill recharge timers

...So it seems I'm a bit biased toward the first game.  I still loved both, though, so thank you for those, and good luck with the next one!  I think it's a safe bet that I'll enjoy it even without my unimaginative improvements above, but yeah.  Can't wait!  (Unless you delay it for the sake of adding more awesomeness, of course.)

Havoc10K, I don't agree with you! In ME2, on chuchunga, john and the salarian scientist found the information to make the cure for the Genophage, Urdnod wrex is trying to unite the Krogan clans together, I know there more dangerous than Rachni, but with the Krogan cured in ME3, and the Rachni's species spared from extinction in ME1 and the save data brought to ME2 and that save data brought to ME3, the (cured) Krogan and the Rachni can be allies to fight the Reapers.

I agree with c4226 and Particlese!

Wrex is trying true, but when the Genophage is cured, do you think this would succeed ?

their little wars would start over, the rachi retreated, initially they were in their own territory, influenced by reapers (presumably at least) they waged wars on other races, The Rachni Queen retreated to safety, I am sure she will help when the time comes, the Krogans will as well, but the Genophage thought most of them how precious life is, if it's cured, it's all to nothing, Krogans are far too dangerous to let them be, they have to have a leash on them.

Isn't this a thread about ME3 improvements. We can assume all we want about the Krogan, but unless we are playing ME3 there is no way to tell how it will all go down. So long Bioware makes a good story that fits into what I choose over the past two game I am down for whatever the Krogan or the Rachni decide.

I'm pretty sure BioWare will use some magick stick and do some miracle and we will all drop jaws.

that said, ME3 should have at least 3 DVD9 content disks, this is a huge war now, and I mean huige, the enemy is like, half a moon size each.

Please make it so when you turn shep it isnt a quick snap animation like how capcom does it for their games (lost planet etc) I liked how on mass effect 1 it was a smooth turn animation. I know its a small thing but it makes it better to me at least.

also make it look prettier! loved what bioware did with the shadow broker dlc, such good looking dlc. Im sure youve seen the many ME fans who dont like the low res clothing and armor on characters.

Another thing Bioware needs to do for ME3 is make the XBox 360 version just as good as the PS3 version. I have seen screens for ME2 on the PS3 and it much better looking.

Theres a reason for that, and its to do with the different architecture that the consoles run on. PS3 has better graphics handling than the Xbox has. Think of it like how PC versions can look better than Xbox version, simply because we can chuck in a hardcore video card, where the Xbox is limited to the one thats built in.

That is because it's X-Box, the name says all about the crap microsoft invented.

Personal rant, continue on with the topic :)

Ever since ????ing the Rachni queen in the first game (????=kill/save, of course:)), I've been looking forward to the result. At the risk of jinxing it, I really hope it was downplayed in ME2 so it will be all the more awesome in ME3.

...Which makes me think about how much motivated choice there is in these games. I love it! It brings to mind the constant freedom to choose sides that Deus Ex 2 had, but ME somehow avoids that "what you just said/did doesn't matter" feeling. That's got to be tough nut to crack. Here's to maintaining the good record in the next round!

1. The bugs in the games for ME1 it was over heating glitch where it would not cool down, for ME2 needs to be fit for all graphics cards, as for the PC with scenes of intense blue, (jetting of blue, sparks of massive amounts of blue, etc) need to be fixed. (was problem with Nvidia cards)
2. Make Liara T,Soni and others able to have romance again. (I was like grr I can't continue romance)
3. Only replace squad if gone from suicide mission. No new entire squad unless they all died.
4. Bring back the XP per kill instead of the level.
5. Don't under-power the reapers, look what sovereign did but in the trailer you have 4 trying to take out London.
6. support for single cores with hyper threading.

Opinions:
Co-op would be neat but have it like Reach where you can only do it once you complete the game that far. Doing the entire game with a friend would fun as their choices help create the outcome and would allow for more interruptions.
I liked the choices of guns, but would be nice for the equip ammo like ME as I set all squads for specific against synthetics or organics.
I also do not how many times I found myself trying to throw a grenade and then get shot because was reloading.

Graphics Card: PNY 1 GB Nvidia Geforce 210.
Processor: Intel P4 w/ hyper-threading

Edit: More information

I hope that we start the game off with our character at the same level at the end of ME2. I don't want to start from square one again. There has to be a reason the max level was capped at 30.
