Probably a retarded question and has probably been asked a hell of a lot times.. but is the content of crates based on the level of ur character.. do the weapons you find in the crates get better as you get more xp or does it get influenced by the places u visit..?

I guess it is influenced by your level...for instance...I couldn't get a Pistol from a crate that deals more than 160-170 damage till level 40 or so..

Unless you have Pinnacle Station you won't find any good items until you are level 50 or higher, I am talking about IX and X items.

From level 7 and above, every 6 levels the content f crates will upgrade by one tier approximately.

Scroll down to gaining items, it should have item level to player level.

I'm doing a new game+ on Hardcore, I'm level 53 or so and while I do generally get IXs and Xs, I keep getting Is too.

Actually the biggest difference is between level VI and VII gear, where it goes from 1 slot to 2 slots. The rest is really a matter of small percentages. This is generally also where you start getting gear from the top end manufacterer, such as Kassa Fabrications, Serrice Council and Rosenkov Materials.

The roll-around from getting IX and X's to I and II's is weird, but potentially useful.
Keep in mind that some items don't have high level versions and after you advance past that point you won't pick them up any more. Most of those items are junk, but some of the ammo isn't, so for the love the volus, if you want tungsten ammo late in the game, don't sell any past lvl 42.

Armor-piercing and Shredder Amno don´t go past VII, also the Rail Extensions or whatever they are called, they trade damage for heating after VII, so keeping 2 for the Sniper Rifle if you go for damage rather than shooting rate is quite usefull: 2 RE + Explosive Amno is a one hit kill to most enemies even on Insanity.
