Which race or faction will get hit the hardest and what planets/ stations will be lost?

I'm hoping for a battle through the Alliance's main space station,

The Reapers are probably going to focus on humanity.

If we even get a giant battle.

I doubt Bioware will put one in. We will probably get some Independance Day virus that makes them go boom, and then cake.

The Systems Alliance is going to be hit the hardest. This is the way I see it; If you were paragon through the series the Alliance will be dealt a severe blow, but the other races help them recover, if you were renegade the Alliance will be dealt a sever blow, and Cerberus takes the reins for humanity.

Just an idea.

No giant battle? : (   I hope not I mean they've built up the Reapers to be some bad*** metal gods of death that I want a war with a great feeling of desperation. Like having to go get someone for your team or save them by dropping into a husk infested base, city, or station.

I'd be willing to bet favors that 'who gets hit hard' will be some of the 'hard choices' of the game, but one shaped by big choices in earlier games. Say three species are threatened, but you only have one army... unless you have the Rachni, or the geth.

Hit hardest in what sense?

Humanity seems to be of interest to the reapers, so they probably wont go killing them, and I dont peg billions year old machines as having any use for revenge.

Id suspect the other council races would be hit hardest, as they make up the majority of the population of the Citadel.

Turians since they have the largest fleet are going to be contributing to the defense of every race, the casualties will add up quick.

Anyone think Earth will get attacked?

Of course we'll have a giant battle - one we cannot participate in. Instead the battle will be a diversion and we'll be the strikeforce racing against time to disable some giant battery generator powering all the reapers, with cut scenes to show the casualties as we rush from one objective to another. :D

The Reapers see Humanity as the one species with the potential for ascension, which also means they see us as most likely being the biggest threat. My guess is that they would attempt to isolate and destroy Humanity first just like they tried to do with the Collectors in ME2.

I get the feeling Earth is going to  be the primary target. Is it me or was there a lot of forshadowing for this in ME2?

Have a feeling we gonna need to choose between citadel(salarians, asari and turians mostly) and earth(humans mostly)....Also i think heretics gonna make their move on quarians when reapers come(then have paragon option of having true geth come save the fleet depending on ME2 choices)...Depending if wrex is leading the krogan they gonna get the killing blow for their race (btw wrex needs to blow up a reaper in ME3)

Attacking earth or destroying earth makes no sense, as humanity is the only race the reapers see as viable for their reproduction. If they did attack earth, it would be only in the sense of possibly eliminating military threats, and then indoctrinating the rest of the population.

The Turian councilor will not believe until the reapers are on the citadels doorstep or Turian space is attacked.

If the Reapers secure Earth, they'll have upwards of 10 billion in population they can Ascend to Reaper status. I'm not saying that they will exterminate Earth, but rather that they'll attack and seek to control it like a strategic resource.

A military attack usually doesn't have the objective of just destruction of everything. It is usually to secure an asset or force the enemy to surrender. In this case the population itself is a resource.

I thought that too, or some how destroying the Mass Relays to stop the Reapers. Which would have server repercussions. I hope ME3 has multiple endings... like old school RPGs, look at Fallout 1+2.

Most likely the Krogan and the Turians. Everyone will get screwed over, it'll just depend on your choices during the whole series on how devastated the galaxy is.

This. I have the same feeling. If you look at it pragmatically the reapers have been amassing numbers for millions of years and even hinted at having ships at every known world with life of interest to them at the same time.

The galaxy's current residents are no match for that even on a day where they all play nice with one another. So we need either space magic (and loads of it) or a neatly written AI virus to beat them at their own game.

The cake is a lie.

One of your squadmates always says "They must be going after Earth" and Shep replies "Not if we stop them" on the "derelict" Collector vessel, right as you enter the big space with the platform in it where the trap is sprung.

And note that Earth is now on the Galaxy map -- but you can't do anything on it.

Also ...

Turians since they have the largest fleet are going to be contributing
to the defense of every race, the casualties will add up quick.

That's very true, but I don't think they'll be the main target. The Turians will bear the brunt of the fight, though.

Earth was on the galaxy map in the first game too. I remember being sad I couldn't land there.
