Well, I played Shadows of Amn years and years ago... it is still my favorite RPG of all time, and one of my favorite games period.   But I never got around to playing the expansion, Throne of Bhaal...

Now that I have a job, I feel less guilty about spending money on guilty pleasures, so I bought ToB off of Amazon ($24??  Is this game like a collector's item or something? lol) and to my great joy, it arrived at my doorstep this afternoon!

So basically:

I'm planning on doing a complete re-run through SoA first, before getting into the new stuff introduced by ToB.  Should I install both games at the same time or do you think I should wait to install ToB until after I've beaten SoA?  Does it even make a difference?  I know BGII can have some weird bugs even with all the patches so I was just wondering what's the best option.

Thanks guys!  And I've never been more excited to sink 50+ more hours into a video game :D

Considering you can get the entire Baldurs gate set (all games and expansions) brand new on cd and ready for windows xp for $20 max...you got screwed ;) I got nothing else because I haven't played my copy yet.

Install ToB right away. ToB and the ToB patch affects many things in SoA as well.

Does the latest ToB patch also provide the latest SoA patches?

The ToB patch is sufficient on its own. You do not need the install the SoA patch before you install ToB (and installing it afterwards is likely to break your game).

Oh, you'll earn a LOT more than $24. How much I don't know exactly. What's the dollar to gp conversion rate anywho? :P
