Actually that's not true. Hawke is not a "pre-decided" character, much of the story is going to come from how you shape the character throughout the game.

The simple idea that BioWare creates a past for the character and personality while allowing choice....I'm really looking forward to that. I hope Hawke's past is clearly defined and as important as it was to Marston's character.

lets hope hes not badass unless your saying something badass, and is able to portray what each individual wants him to sound like in his voice

As it happens my charceters names of choice are usually Hawk, Hawkens or hawkhan. So now i actually get a whole story made especially for my character so to speak. Any hoo arguements on wether this is a good or bad thing aside. How do you rate Hawke so far. I myself think he will turn out to be one bad arse hero, and I cant wait to start slaying.
I don't know anything about her/him so it is too early to say - I don't like voiced protagonists because I am very picky about the voice and afraid that I won’t be able to play at all if the protagonist happens to have unpleasant ( too high, wrong timbre, etc.) voice

Hawke? Way too early to guess, but no way he'll match up with some of these people.

Seriously, you think Conan and Bond are cool?
Conan the Bond is the best movie ever. Seeing a Barbarian walking around using high tech gadgets to rip people apart in a tuxedo? What more do you want?

Have you read any of the original R.E.Howard stories? Conan kicks arse.
I know some men like to play at the idea that you can't be intellectual or sophisticated and still enjoy stories of manly men doing manly things and getting the women at the end, but the one does not preclude the other. I'm very educated, enjoy classical music and jazz, collect art, act, roleplay, know more than a few operas by heart, and love watching Conan kick the snot out of demons or giant apes, all the while with a beautiful woman hanging off his arm. (or in the rare case, kicking arse beside him)
Most men who proclaim their dislike over such things feel threatened by them - they believe that if they admit an attraction to these kinds of characters they are somehow labeling themselves as intellectual or culture throwbacks ... much the same way homophobes fear to even talk about homosexuality, terrified doing so will somehow undermine their heterosexuality.
We humans are allowed to be multidimensional characters with interests less imaginative people might consider contradictory.
