What on earth is the OP talking about? Regular arrows were unlimited.

Special arrows weren't, but that's it. Even if you had no special arrows, you always had ammunition for your bow (or crossbow).

Perhaps the OP thinks he/she was out of arrows because there was no number (representing the amount of arrows available) in the arrow slot? That's how it works for regular arrows.

While we're at it, I'd love to have a crafting ability for special arrows.

as Zjarcal said. You only need to equip a bow. the arrows are unlimited. the arrow slot is just for special arrows only special arrows run out then your back to normal arrows.

The special arrows ran out quick because their special. If you had unlimited special arrows, that would break archery.

bioware is dumb.... they should just make those stupid warmth balm applicable to bows so the arrows the bow fired are elemental...

or make poison useable on bow / xbow and not just melee weapons ... think of poor Leliana'... please :)

I played an archer character, rarely used the special arrows, and I can assure you the 'normal' arrows never ran out once.

I always found myself treating magic arrows like fine china, saving them for a special occasion that never came about.



I am of the opinion that special arrows should function like a weapon rune in that they are unlimited as long as they are equipped. It would add some flexibility, so the archer can switch arrow types depending on the target without the worry of running out of special arrows.



It should either be limited ammo or unlimited, I don't like the hybrid ammo system in DA:O.

They should have just allowed you to put runes into bows like you could melee weapons and not even implemented different arrow types. Its one of the things that made bows inferior to melee weapons in DAO.

Or make it so that instead of special arrows, you can pick up a quiver that has a particular elemental enchant, along with any other attributes or bonuses.

Indeed - I finished DAO with enough special arrows left that I could have turned every single Darkspawn, bandit and monster of the whole Ferelden into a pincushion.Posted Image

i think the OP means the item ''arrow'' that you can find (not sure if you can buy it) and, yes, you can run out of that, but after you run out of it you wil still be shooting arrows because you dont actually need arrows equiped to fire normal arrows.

THIS!! It was annoying to find out that I couldn't apply poison to arrows even with the poisen making ability. As an archer it would have been nice.

My problem is every time I did run out of arrows my character no matter who it was would turn into combat hand to hand. I got so annoyed with it I gave up trying to use bows and arrows.

We get it, some people were mistaken about limited normal arrows.

Lets get too important stuff. Yes this is my pet peeve throughout all Bioware games, and I'l keep bringing it up.

In every game they make, they introduce really cool weapon enhancement , modification and creations systems. In every game so far, they leave bows out of it.

Please please let us gem bows to do fire or cold damage, or gem bows to penetrate armor. Whatever, if you allow such enhancements to work for swords, daggers, maces and such, don't leave out bows yet again.

Now is the time to ask and keep bringing this up, because in all the other instances, it is always said, they can't do that, because they didn't allow the game engine to mod or affect bows. It isn't a game balance decision, but a technical problem:)

Seriously David, I really want to know why you won't let us add enhantments to bows and arrows included.  It really makes no sense or maybe he just doesn't like bows. Posted Image

If you want the character to stick with the bow only, unequip the other weapon or they will switch at the least opportune time. You won't run out of arrows that way. B)
