By no means do I obsess over it, but I enjoy the information leaks. I'm fine with the smaller packs just being released. For full games and bigger DLC packs, I love hearing small details about them before they actually hit. It probably has something to do with me working at a computer all day.atheelogos wrote...

I also heard that M-5 Phalanx from this link http://masseffect.wi...iki/M-5_Phalanx does more damage then the Carnifex about 109.8 BD oppose to the Carnifex 85.4 BD, The Geth Plasma Shotgun is cool but I still prefer the Claymore.Mozer121 wrote...
After testing this new DLC in action, I must admit that I rather enjoyed it. First of all the Mattock is an amazing and refreshing taste of firepower and accuracy unlike most assault rifles *cough* revenant. The Geth plasma shotgun turns your otherwise useless shotgun-wielding squad members in actual lethal team members with the increased range and power. The M5 Phalanx, while not much different from the Cannifex, does offer much better accuracy if not stopping power as well.
Lastly I have to comment on the weapon sounds. Much better. Actually sound like sophisticated sci-fi weapons without the cheesy, uninspired sounds of the other weapons.
Overall, nice job BioWare. A small DLC pack that doesn't suck for once. 4.5/5

Unless perhaps Bioware were to add the option to buy 160 points...(hint, hint)

I feel ya and don't get me wrong I enjoy talking about DLC at length before it comes out, but I don't like doing it unless there is a release date to look forward to. Thats why I'm avoiding this whole Liara thing, for now at least.Gumbeaux Jr wrote...

I don't think Bioware has any control over that. Thats microsoft's domain and trying to get them to change.... well let me stop right there cuz it almost certainly isn't going happen.Vaeliorin wrote...
Sigh...I was tempted to buy this, but seeing as how I can't buy just 160 Bioware points (and would inevitably end up with points that I had no use for) I guess I won't be purchasing it.

An interesting read and what she wrote is pretty much how I experienced them. Looking forward to utilising them in the Shadow Broker DLC.

I wouldn't think MS has any call over how Bioware sell their own points and in what quantities. I would imagine the only thing MS influences is how much the DLC would cost (in this case 160mp) and EA/Bioware have adopted the same cost per point ratio so that 'prices' would be the same for both Xbox and PC players. I don't see any major reason why EA/Bioware couldn't sell their own points in multiples of 160 unless it has something to do with online purchasing rules

Any class with assault rifle training. For instance my Infiltrator/Soldier hybrid now sports the Mattock look.

But I am a convert to the mattock. I wanted to start a new sentinel to use the sniper instead of AR, but I dunno now.

The mattock is beastly, it's a small clip size, but my sentinel on NG+ ate everything so fast on Garrus' recruitment mission. The new heavy pistol is alright, not to amazing, haven't tried the shotgun yet as I don't have a class that can use it.

I HIGHLY recommend you use the Sentinel to get Shotgun Training that way you can use the new shotgun,
It's practically tailored for use with the Sentinel. You can charge while running up to the enemy and because of Tech Armor you wouldn't have to worry about getting him and then unload the lethal shotgun blast that is good up to Mid Range, effectively turning Shepard into a walking armored, lethal Tank

Also on this Assualt Rifle.....does anyone have the multipliers available for this weapon? As In 1.25x against shields and such....I am looking for a very high armor piercing machine gun to replace a sniper on my Adept.
Thanks for all the info

This weapon sounds great to me, I am glad I just bought a 1600 ms card. This, Kestral, Kasumi, and Liara DLC will probably drain it down to nothing.

I Like how the Katana faces the opposite Direction like it too cool for the other Shotguns lol thanks for posting this like I said the Phanlanx has a bit more damage then the Carnifex I don't have to much trouble aiming with the Phanlanx it pairs well with My Vanguard class especially when I run out of Shotgun ammo for my Claymore on the Higher Diffulculties though it doesn't happen often even without the Ammo Upgrade.javierabegazo wrote...

M-5 Phalanx Heavy Pistol
Mission: Thane Recruitment
Difficulty: Insanity
Shepard used: Level 23 soldier.
Ammo used: Warp L3, Incendiary L3, Disruptor L3
Tester: A 51-year old man who’s not known for his eye-hand coordination or fine motor skills. I’m also no fan of the heavy pistol, preferring the Revenat LMG and sniper rifles.
Practice or familiarization before test: None
Relevant upgrades and equipment: HP 4/5, HP Critical, visor for +10 percent headshot damage.
By the time my Shepard entered the second room in this mission, he was making headshots at ranges and against targets moving laterally that would have been a challenge with a sniper rifle.
The combination of Adrenaline Rush (L3) and the laser dot is deadly. Very precise adjustments are quite possible. (Disclaimer: Having PC rig with a high resolution and a properly weighted gamer mouse almost certainly helped. Will supply specs if requested)
WILL TAKE QUESTIONS.
Limited ammo? Not a problem. Precise placement more than makes up for it. Armor-stripping headshots on FERIS mechs were easily made before they were even in range to fire themselves. As soon as mercs behind cover began to stand up, I hit AR and got them right between the eyes before they could even fire their weapons.
For test purposes, I placed squadmates under cover and far out of the way, and cleared rooms on my own.
BOTTOM LINE: Experienced pistol players can get good results without the laser dot, but people who haven't used pistols as much will definitely want to try this out.
Results could vary. Effect of screen picture resolution and of the controller used (Xbox vs. mouse vs. good quality gamer mouse) needs further testing.

Do squaddies ever run out of ammo? If not, Id definitely give them the Mattox!
Apparently they do not run out of ammo. I went with Jacob and Jack, though, to see if the new Geth shotgun was any good for them. Yes, it was.
