Didn't show up in my Cerberus Network. Bought through normal Game Add-Ons. Not listed in my "Bought DLC" section of the Online Marketplace list. Stuck in the Reaper IFF mission, can't tell if it worked or not. Even if it does, I would like to see it pop up in the online marketplace list later - I like looking at the whole completed list thing.

For some reason that list has always been slow to update, at least it has to me.

Hey, is there anyone who can take some screenshots of the weapons? I really want to see them in action.

Cerberus Network =/= Everything Ever Will Be Free

We got a fair amount of good stuff from the Network. I like these DLCs, give me something new to do with a game I've played already, makes it fresh. I'll keep paying for them as long as they're quality. 160 is like $2. Having a really high quality shotgun makes the pack worthwhile to me.

Better not be better than the Revenant. Actually, if it is better, then I could pick up the Widow instead.

Now I'm usually the last person to criticise DLC and the prices, but in this case, charging for this separate to Shadow Broker is kind of lame. Would it really have been that hard to include the weapons as part of Shadow Broker?

Oh well, off I guy to buy it, I'm such a chump.

I hope this new weapons don't screw up the balance of the weapons. Ok, SMGs already got buffed with the Locust, so it's only fair to have a new good Assault Rifle, as long as it doesn't outclass the Revenant (the weapon decision should matter). Shotguns could also use a little boost, the Eviscerator is good, but the weapon class still looks bad on squadmates in comparsion to ARs, SRs and SMGs. A new heavy pistol? If every other class gets a boost, then why not? Can't wait to test this stuff a little.

I bought it. Didn't get any DL errors or anything, but I haven't left the mission I'm on.

Wow that sounds like some pretty sweet weaponry. I'll be getting this pack.

Well the Liara DLC won't be out till quite a bit later, so by releasing this weapons pack now we get sooner than if it were attached to the Liara DLC. Also, what if you want the weapons but not the Liara DLC?

Ok, played a little with them, no enemies yet (only mission on my save is overlord and I haven't started fighting yet).

The Mattock is single-shot, not at all like the Revenant, and the Phalanx replaces the reticule with a laser pointer. The phalanx has a pretty big recoil and slow firing rate.

These weapons function pretty differently to existing ones, so they won't alter the balance much.

Ok, played a little (no Shotgun, infiltrator here).

The Mattock is awesome. It's more like a Sniper Rifle than an Assault Rifle. It's really accurate, and very strong, but with a rate of fire similar to the Viper.

The Phalanx is very powerful, but fires very slowly. The laser point can actually be a pain to use, and is more of a drawback than an improvement.

EDIT: The Mattock feels a lot like firing the Viper from the hip, but much much more accurate and without the ability to use the scope.

I'm appreciative of the new guns but whatever happened to the Cerberus = Free DLC equation? Seems like the new strategy is to bundle items and charge for them instead of releasing content singularly for free.

I'm not ungrateful for new content. I'd just like to have been told upfront that I'd get nickel and dimed on DLC..

The Cerberus network DLC was never going to be all free. It was only really going to release enough free DLC justify the cost of purchasing the network seperately for those buying used. Basically cerberus is there so that EA would get some cash from used sales.

Oh,  I have no problems paying for DLC nor did I expect all DLC to be free.  I suppose I expected the ratio of free to pay-per DLC to be in the favor of free.

My review on the weapons-

The Mattock is more of a Sniper Rifle than an Assault Rifle. I wanted a gun with more ammo than the Avenger that was a little weaker than the Vindicator. I got the opposite. lol. Its got LESS ammo than the Vindicator, so its very easy to run out of ammo unless you plant shots carefully. I don't think I'll use this gun, but its new, so its refreshing to try out.

The Phalanx is odd. Its a pistol with enough rounds to be sustainable, but it uses a laser sight, making it harder to aim with. If you do land shots though, they hit hard. Its another Sniper Rifle of sorts, only this is the Pistol version. Pretty nice addition. I might stick with it.

The Geth Shotgun is another weird one. Its not double barreled. Its got THREE barrels. That, and it can be charged for a more powerful blast. That's all well and good, but not for a Vanguard that's constantly running around and charging the enemy. If you can stay behind cover and pop out to use it, it becomes incredibly lethal, and it is very long range(more so than the Eviscerator, from what I can tell), so its a keeper for SOME situations. As long as you're Vanguard Charging, stick to the Eviscerator or Claymore.

Thanks for the new weapons Bioware. I might not end up using all three, but more variety is always welcomed.
