This is going a little off-topic but I wouldn't be expecting anything free from Cerberus any longer. ME2 can easily be found new for $30 or less if Amazon is running a sale. There is no incentive for Bioware/EA to release free content other than good will. It's all about diminishing returns. Cerberus was designed to prevent people from buying used copies when the game was priced at $50 or more. It was at that price when content was being released for free via Cerberus to convince people that it was worth the extra $10-$15 to buy it new instead of used. That's why Bioware/EA priced the Cerberus Network at $15. That's generally the savings of buying used. When sales slowed and price drops started, the free content stopped. Personally, if someone were to buy the game used, I would recommend against purchasing it. I don't think the content lives up to its price tag. Outside of the Zaeed loyalty mission - a character I don't use, but a fun mission - everything is pretty much worthless and doesn't add to the story or help in the game. Save the $15 for the paid content. It's actually worth it. The Normandy crash site is just running around in circles collecting dog tags. The Firewalker dlc was nothing more than a glorified beta test for the Hammerhead's functionality. I used the Arc projector once and quickly found that it's the worst heavy weapon in the game. The shotgun, as with most other ME shotguns (the exception being the plasma shotgun) stinks - which sucks since shotguns are generally my favorite weapons in games. That leaves the armor, which is only good if you're starting a fresh game and haven't upgraded the in-game armor or have other dlc armor. So the lesson to be learned by those who want to save the $10-15 is to wait about two or three months for the first price drop (or however long until it's at your price point) then buy the paid dlc. No need to pre-order unless it's from Gamestop or you really need that collector's edition since the other pre-order armor bonus was offered as cheap dlc with other helmets thrown in. There is no free lunch.

makes ya wonder why the Cerberus Network gets no love i mean after the firewalker pack it was nothing but paid DLC. So it makes u wonder if they will ever give free DLC or will the Network be a waste of money .....kinda makes ya wish the cards were refundable lol

While I love ME2, the Cerberus network gimmick is a joke. It was used in marketing to get people to buy the game brand new. I fell for it. I will NOT fall for it with future EA/Bioware games.

Your wrong about DLC and COLLECTOR EDITION games ... ADDS more value to the game , I'm not saying CERBERUS network is good !!! They need to fix it or update it . WE should of got discounts for using the Cerberus network , but we didn't that sucks !!!! BAD BIO WARE .. "ANY way MATTOCK HEAVY RIFLE AND BLACK WIDOW are wrong in a SOLDIERS HANDS !!!!"

Yeah, it's a shame that many people works for weeks and want a salary for their work !

Damn you Bioware to make good work not free !

/sarcasme.

You like it, pay for it, nobody is forcing you.

For dev economic there is no difference between second hand market and piracy, they got no money from both of them.

I strongly support Bioware who try to find a good compromis to sell their game without using intrusive DRM like this ****ing securom that can destroy hardware and disrupt the good fonctioning of the computer.

Cerberus network was never meant to be an option for some free dlc, it was THE structure required for DLC, free or not.

The free DLC was only marketting, yes, but we can't blame them to give something for free to try to convince people.

I think lot of people got the wrong idea about cerberus network, it was not a kind of extra that will allow you play some free content added regulary ... not at all.

I think you people should read this article from Chrstina Norman, Secrets of Firepower Pack.

She said beautifully, the pack is designed to disrupt the player weapon choices.

When I play as an Infiltrator I pick the Widow in the Collector Ship.
Not this time, I choose the shotgun weapon trining, so I can use the Geth Shotgun.

All I can say is I'm glad I did this, it bringed new strategies and ways of play for my class. ;)

Seriously. The Arc Projector is awesome and almost always my default heavy weapon.

Alright people, time for some damage comparison vids and DPS numbers, lets go!

I wonder if DLC items will remain or if they disappear then the character is transferred to ME3

I have to say i have never found the Arc Projector much good either...maybe i'm just using it wrong.

I mostly always use either the Cain or the Collector Beam weapon as my heavy weapons.

That aside, i loved this DLC weapon pack and found the Geth Shotgun to be a must for all shotty users.

So, was there some confirmation if DLC is worth getting and it remains for ME3 or not?

Im not much for pistol usage so Im not going to give an opinion on it....However, I have to say that my Soldier is loving....the...hell...out of the new rifle (Ive been wanting a semi-auto rifle since ME1 lol.) As far as the shotgun goes (Havent ran my Vanguard yet so I cant give an COMPLETE opinion on it yet.) from what I used of it on my Soldier (and he doesnt even have any shotgun upgrades and I play on Normal mostly) A fully charged shot will usually instantly kill most enemies (Shielded w/o armor) I also love the fact that it has mad range for a shotgun. You know, I used to think that the Eviscerator (spelling?) was my "go to" Shotty for my Vanguard....But now, DEFINATELY the Geth Shotgun and quite easily my favorite weapon in the entire game.

While I agree with you that the cerberus network dlc is not $15, I will have to disagree on the Eviscerator shotgun & Arc projector. Aside from the newly released Geth shotgun, the Eviscerator is the best available. Also, the Arc projector is my heavy weapon of choice against Geth and mechs alike. But yes, Firewalker is pretty much garbage and should be free to everyone because it wasn't really meant to satisfy. And Zaeed alone doesn't make up the difference. If Overlord had been free on cerberus then I would say it's well worth it, and that asking for anything more borders on greed. But, it wasn't free, so that's clearly not the case. Making at least one of the remaining Alt. Appearance packs free would help ease the stinging for people who paid for cerberus after the fact IMO.

It's all pretty irrelevant to me though, actually, because I bought the game at launch, so I was going to get cerberus free regardless.

The Geth shotgun rocks. Finally, ME2 has a streetsweeper. I'll give this to Tali, it feels kindof right since I have her use a GPR in ME1.

Agreed.  I am also loving the Geth shotgun.  Gave it to Grunt also and he is a beast with that weapon.

This. Not only does it pack a massive punch and a certain AoE, it does it also comes with Overload's side effects too( except the stun works on everyone).

Tek that you fookin' Prawns...

Me and other people are having an issue trying to buy the new DLC.

When I click "buy now" at the DLC page, I get redirected to the Mass Effect 2 home page. This is the link "http://social.biowar...OFB-MASS:20917"

I've already posted this in the points.bioware forum but no one seems to read that place.

What's the trick to the arc projector? It seems to have a really long lag time before it will fire, so that just tapping the mouse button does nothing.

My default heavy weapon remains the damn Avalanche, still seem to get the best results out of that on most missions.

You're seriously expecting to buy DLC in one game and expect that it'll show up in another game?? Dream on. Besides I think you're much more likely to get all new guns n armour next time round.

Never mind that. The weapons are fun and do add an extra factor in what loadout to pick now, you have a much more varied selection now, especially if you have the others (Cerberus shotty, Kasumi SMG etc).
