You're seriously expecting to buy DLC in one game and expect that it'll show up in another game?? Dream on.
What he said.
Besides, I'm pretty sure ME3 will be as different from ME2 as ME2 from ME1. Meaning, there will be another itemization system. I secretly hope for fully customizable weapons. We had awesome improvement over armor customization in ME2, why ME3 can't have the same awesomeness for weapons? I'll take custom weapons over transfered DLCs any day

I haven't bought any of these small DLCs because I just don't get it. Does it really add to the gameplay? Or...
the dlc gear is automatically added to the normandy armoury, etc from the begining so they arent properly intergrated into the game, frankly its pretty close to a cheat for me, unless you are willing to delay using them until a place they could naturally be found

What's the trick to the arc projector? It seems to have a really long lag time before it will fire, so that just tapping the mouse button does nothing.
You have to hold the fire button down for a few seconds. Then it vapes whoever you're aiming at (and his friends, the arc length is huge).

To be honest, I assumed this concept was planned for in ME2. While it's fair enough coming across advanced weaponry in the course of your missions, and adding blueprints to the Normandy inventory to produce them for your squad...
This is supposed to be and incredibly highly-funded, private paramilitary corporation with advanced research capabilities. It's not surprising TIM arranges to have shipments of experimental and top-of-the-line hardware sent to you.

That's a long time to hang your... backside out there for the enemy to take shots.

Everyone rips on the Incisor, but at the very beginning of the game it's a lot like having a scoped LMG, for any SR-using class.

The Phalanx is superior to any other pistol. Even so, it's nothing truly special, although the laser sight does prove useful over those extremely long distances where you can't even guage the enemy's health. Overall, a nice bonus to the pack, and better than any other pistol.
The Mattock, however, is truly exemplary. An excellent, single-shot rifle capable of rapid-fire and heavy impact. It's tailored (in my opinion) for short-range classes such as Vanguards who have always desired the long-range abilities of a sniper without the hassle of a scope. The ten shots per clip is a bet of a letdown, but the satisfaction garnered from utilizing the weapon calls to mind the great joy of semiautomatic rifles.
All-in-all, worth the money. This pack has helped to make Insanity a breeze.

The enemy won't be taking shots. They'll be getting crispy-fried and when that wears off, their guns will have overheated. Assuming they're not packing flamethrowers, as they'll have exploded if this is the case.
Trust me, the only weapon in the game that can beat the Arc Projector for widescale wipeout is the Cain. Try it. You'll like it.

I got this pack because I had some points leftover after buying some DLC for Dragon Age. I REALLY like the rifle, the pistol is fun to play with, but I like the Claymore over the Geth shotgun.. at least for my Vanguard.
It's interesting. I can't put down my trusty Scimitar... but that's partially because I like the rate of fire and I only use shotties at near point-blank range.
Even so, I use the Geth Shotty until I get the Scimitar. It's way better than the Evis.

Beyond additional firepower, these weapons allow new styles of gameplay -particularly the geth shotgun. Its charge ability introduces a nice "risk/reward" mechanic.
Future weapon packs should definitely take this direction. Rather than focusing on firepower, they should allow new approaches to combat. A short range melee weapon might be an interesting idea i.e. the Mass Effect equivalent of the Halo plasma sword...
Weapons that simply add firepower are essentially "cheats" that weaken the experience of the game. But when weapons offer new strategies of playing the game, then they can actually enrich the experience.

I used the Arc projector once and quickly found that it's the worst heavy weapon in the game.
You mean the best?
Alright people, time for some damage comparison vids and DPS numbers, lets go!
I wonder if DLC items will remain or if they disappear then the character is transferred to ME3
I have to say i have never found the Arc Projector much good either...maybe i'm just using it wrong.
I mostly always use either the Cain or the Collector Beam weapon as my heavy weapons.
That aside, i loved this DLC weapon pack and found the Geth Shotgun to be a must for all shotty users.
So, was there some confirmation if DLC is worth getting and it remains for ME3 or not?

I need a "firing range" in ME2.
Agreed, although I'd prefer a full on combat simulator. Bioware did such a good job upgrading the combat in ME2 that it would be nice to be able to just punch up a quick fight. Give the player an option to choose from several different maps, the type of enemy they want to fight (Bloodpack, Collectors, etc.) and maybe a choice of enviormental factors like fog, dust storms, or the cool shield draining sunlight on Haestrom.

The Incisior would be great if it were balanced like a scoped assault rifle with about twice its current max ammo and about twice the number of rounds from each thermal clip.
As it stands it takes more shots and more time to take an enemy down with the Incisor than any other Sniper Rifle, which would be fine if it were balanced out by also being the most ammo efficient rifle; but instead its probably the most ammo ineffcient gun in the game which makes it pretty much worthless unless you put it in the hands of a squamate.
Its a shame really, its a fun gun to use and it has the potential to be a great gun if it just had more ammo. I wish Bioware would patch the Incisior because its so close to being a great gun.

That's why I think it's great when we get new guns to choose from. Everyone has their preferences. How I tend to play my Vanguard is have my squad strip off an enemies defenses, heavy charge, shotgun to the face. I also tend to pick more defensive advanced training powers, like barrier, so I don't have to worry too much about taking a little fire. I'm also not the biggest fan of weapons you have to charge. Just annoys me for some reason.

Eh, they're essentially cheats as it is, because they're available from your inventory right from the get-go. Same goes for armor and all equipment-exclusive DLC packs. Not having to purchase ingame or do a mission or find them upsets the balance.
Even though I could see somebody chosing one gun over another late in the game, for the good first half there's no much point using the stock weapons anymore. Especially the Phalanx or whatever the new pistol is called. Its only worth avoiding if you're a terrible shot. If you can handle the lack of a crosshair and hit your targets, its by far the best heavy pistol in the game.
But I dont expect that ever to get fixed. I'm happy with the pack, but I do wish they had not released it, and instead included the equipment in the Liara DLC as some kind of reward. Same goes for the Aegis pack and Overlord. Quests are fun, but even better when we get something at the end of it.

Before you fire, I mean. Maybe it's just me, but when I stand up with a weapon that has to charge to fire, I seem to draw a lot of incoming while I wait.
