I don´t mind paying for this kind of dlc for two reasons:
-It is cheap, so it is not a big deal. I know that it may not be worth the money, thought.
-But what really makes me buy the dlc, is because ME2 is good. By buying it (as i said, very cheap to do) i am actually giving money to Bioware so that they can work on ME3. I believe in supporting products that you enjoy, oherwise they would disappear or get lower quality.
If i want ME3, or future ME2 content to be of good quality, i have no problems spending a few bucks into dlc, that, while i know it is not directly worth it, i like supporting the company that is going to make games/content that i am interested with. So all in all i think these dlc are good to buy if only for making sure that Mass effect is profitable and we can see much more content and a better future for the whole trilogy.
joriandrake: The dlc weapons will likely NOT be imported to ME3, and it is not a waste of money. You payed some money to get some weapons and use them in ME2, not to use them in ME3. If Bioware decides to give anything to those that bought dlc in ME2, it is comlpetely because they want to do it, not because they mus. As i said you got what you paid for, don´t expect more of it.
I agree 100%

This is all great I Love new DLC's, But I really think we are in need of an increase in the level CAP. With all the DLC's released, using an imported character, I can level to the max without even starting the IFF Mission, and Part of the game for me is being able to develop my character!
Anyone else getting frustrated with this???
Yes! And give me a new difficulty level above insanity!
and then let me retrain the powers of my squad!

And it does.
With the Mattock, you can fire off a good 80 something rounds.
The Vindicator fires 3 shots for every pull of the trigger, and you get about 120 rounds, so its-
Vindicator- 40 trigger pulls
Mattock- 80 trigger pulls
I hardly every run out of ammo on the Mattock because I can just pick up ammo from the ground and keep going. Its a pretty good gun for ammo conservation.
And even if you did run out, you've got the Phalanx for a powerful back up.
I'm a hell of a sharpshooter. I get headshots with it from RIDICULOUSLY far away.
Then you've got the GPS which is basically the "I Win" gun.

Also the weapons are fun to use on a second playthrough

Why are people talking about whether or not the dlc weapons will transfer to ME3? In all honesty, I expect none of the weapons in ME2 to transfer to ME3, or at least without extra hoops to jump through.
However, it should all still be usable in the pre-ME3 DLC.

+1 to this. While I do enjoy the DLC, the fact of the matter is that Kasumi and Liara audio files were found in the game, and there was that pic of Kasumi holding the M5. Hmm...Cyberfrog81 wrote...
... I did however actually read the entire thread, and there are very few "should be free!" complaints. Mostly people are lining up to thank BioWare for their generousity in letting them spend points on 3 weapons. They're not being taken advantage of, of course not, BioWare/EA is just too awesome for that. They're being given a gift, you see - a gift that they just happen to pay for. Strange world.
Clearly some work went into the design of these weapons though, so if people find them "worth it" - good for them. Still, the "vanilla" game had an unimpressive (but sufficient) selection of weapons. Too much micro-DLC and it starts to look as if we're being sold the game "as it should have been", piece by piece. Also, while not a micro-DLC scheme, Starcraft II will be sold in three pieces. Why be original when people want, no, DEMAND (just look at DA2) more of the same? Ah, the future of gaming looks ever more promising.

With that being said, I am having an intermitent issue with the laser not turning on when aiming the Phalanx, so I don't use it. I give it to squad mates. Mattock... didn't like it for my soldier since I have the Revenant, but I found it to be absolutely amazing for my Sentinel. Offsets a Tempest or Locust perfectly.

No one anywhere is making anyone pay for somthing they dont want. It doesnt matter if some or all DLC looks like is was ment to come with the main game, It didnt. There could be so many reasons why it didnt and we just dont know.
Im not a fanboy of Bioware, or of anyother games company out there, I just dont see why people sit around and complane like little kids about paying for somthing, when they dont need to.

I think if everybody did it, with no exceptions, then it would be the standard business model regardless of how upset people were. And I guess it is the standard business model. But I think people (at least, myself) look at other companies and how they handle DLC, the select few, and see them giving away so much content for free.
Valve are obviously the prime example. AAA quality games, AAA quality DLC, and all of it absolutely free. Team Fortress 2 has become twice the game it once was. Then you've got The Witcher, a game that saw its entire graphics get an overhaul, new gameplay elements, and new audio to make for a more polished product, and while this was released in its own package, it was available as a 100% free update for everybody who already owned the game.
I guess what I'm saying is that its entirely possible, financially and practically, to release DLC for free, depending on its content. I'm very happy to pay for mission packs, as I think both Kasumi and Overlord were amazing, but a handful (if that) of guns, armor, or just alternate skins...it harkens back to Bethesda and Oblivion's 'Horse Armor'. An annoying microtransaction.
But I still bought this gun pack, so who am I to complain. Deep down though I wish they hadn't released it at all, and instead included the guns as rewards in the Liara DLC. As much as I loved Overlord it sucked that there were no equipment rewards, especially when the Aegis Pack had been released seperately just before. Include the equipment packs with mission packs, enhancing value of both.

I mean I'm all for weapons but why do they have to be more powerful or better than all the other weapons? I mean I recently played a game with an Infiltrator and the Locust just made most of the game easy on Insanity. After looking at the new weapon stats and hearing how they are so powerful, I'm sort of disappointed. Why not get weapons with different damage bonuses? Like a hand gun that was good on shields or machine gun that was good against armor? With damage on par or below that of the weapons specialization. It just seems wrong to sell overpowered weapons.
I mean it's basically like saying gamers would rather have an easy game than a game with good balance and different options to play around with. I know I don't want that.

What I really like about these weapons is the sound engineering. I don't know why, but they just sound awesome to me. The Mattock, especially, just sounds beefy and I love it.

Sure, why not? I don't mind paying money for this kind of DLC (bonus weapons, bonus powers, etc). BioWare deserves as much.TheBestclass wrote...

I wouldn't support this idea because guns use model and requir designe, modeling, texuring, motion, sfx.
Powers in ME2 is not very visual, the only difference is the effect on the target.
And all power using sfx are NOT awsome : singularity is not visualy amazing, shockwave visual is nearly a joke (looks like a playstation years old sfx/motion) and no need to speak about throw, pull, warp that use the same shiny ball ...
If they want to put new powers, they better give it for free or make a really big work on it if they intend to sell them.
But if they make amasing visual new powers to sell them, it would be unfair ! why ?
Because if the visual is highly superior to the original, then it break the balance and just show that the original are just crap visual. And to make "bad work" in original content in order to make "good work" for paying DLC would be bad for their image and they would loose respect (if it's not free).
