am i the only vanguard who hates the GPS? The thing is useless unless it's charged up ...

I can't agree with that. I use it fully charged up only when I can do it in safety, but I play soldier. That probably accounts for the difference.

... and when your charging it you have to poke your head around the corner, on insanity and hardcore thats a deathwish.

I haven't had much problem standing behind tall cover, keeping the cover between the enemy and me until the gun's charged, then hitting AR, stepping to one side and letting the gun rip. And yes, that's on Insanity.

The phalanx on the other hand is fukin awesome, never used heavy pistols before now its the only weapon i use, very powerful and fun with the laser dot.

No argument there.:D

While I see where you are coming from, but try seeing where we're coming from.

Imagine paying for a hotdog. Howd you feel if you had to pay extra for the bun?

To use your metaphor, we have already sold you a hotdog with bun and a tasty selection of condaments. We are offering you a bag of chips to go with it. You do not need to eat the chips to enjoy the hotdog, which is a full meal all by it's self, but some people like chips and are want them if they are offered.

The chips are still optional and do not prevent the hotdog from being awesome with or without the chips.

Of course. But still...Look at Dragon Age's DLC's. Now look at the DLC's for Mass Effect.  With each DLC in Dragon Age, the world grows a little bit more, it becomes a little bit more. While the DLC's for Mass Effect, I'd compare them to buying better items for a game with real money.

Don't misunderstand, I'm not saying all DLC's should be given away for free. As you can probably tell, I've bought DLC's for Dragon Age. But to me, the DLC's for Mass Effect so far have added nothing. Sure you get a fancy new Gun, sure you get a fancy new Sword, but what else?

Anyways, those are my thoughts and criticisms. I hope I've been useful.

I too am curious why the story DLC is so slow to roll out for ME2. I really can't understand why Dragon Age is getting all the DLC story love from Bioware (don't take that as a knock on DA, it's a good game). At this stage in Dragon Age's life I believe there was an expansion pack and other multiple story DLC's available. And by the looks of it  - and this is just a guess - it doesn't look like the Liara DLC will be an expansion, rather a one-shot story. It shouldn't be because of the sales since ME2 has sold roughly 1.88 million copies of the game - through 20 weeks - on the 360 alone according to VGCharts. Granted, with the help of the PS3, it looks like Dragon Age sold about 2.56 million games in that same time frame. Add in PC sales, which VGCharts didn't show, and ME2 is sure to be well over 2 million copies sold. It surely couldn't be creative since the ME universe offers limitless possibilities. So that makes me wonder if it's more technically driven since ME2 offers different challenges than DAO. The first thing I think of is the stellar voice acting. ME2 featured some top notch Hollywood talent for high profile characters in their game that could raise a number of potential problems in scheduling and possibly contracts. The only voices I recognized in DAO was Tim Curry and the dude that played Tuvok on Voyager (neither playing a large part in the game). In DA there was no cover system and no vehicle (which still needs work) so the environments didn't need to be taylored around that. I'm not sure about the differences in the Unreal Engine versus the Eclipse Engine so that may be a wash. With that said, the only reason I can see why Bioware would plan so much more DLC for DA than ME is that the cost of creating content for ME is so much more expensive than DA in the way of time and resources invested that it may not be possible for Bioware to create a 20+ hour expansion pack and hit their profit benchmarks. That would explain the short, but quality, stories for 560 points a pop.

The Mattock is pure awesome. It's exactly the kind of weapon I've wanted for, wel, every character I play. I also like the look and "feel" of the weapon. With the way it's drawn, I want Shep to be able to use that massive beasts buttstock as an epic war club and beat Krogan to death.

The Mattock is now the AK47 of the Mass Effect world.

I don't really get how the Mattock reminds you of an AK47. One is an innaccurate assault rifle that is commonly used more due to financial reasons rather than it's reliability... the other is a semi-auto cannon.

If anything, it reminds me of a Warhammer 40K Boltgun. Big damage, laser accuracy and used by the very best.

Yeah this is my new favorite assault rifle. Hits like a brick, lower ammo consumption. Hands down winner for me.

I'm enjoying this pack, the heavy pistol might be the less used but it's still a good add. The geth shotgun is for total rampage!

I was watching the DVD included with the CE today, and I could have sworn I saw a completed design of the Mattock on a computer screen. The weapons are pure win, I prefer using the pistol to crosshairs over range. Especially at a range, just after meeting Archangel, where I was aiming at mercs that had no health bar at the top of the screen. Not used the geth shottie much, don't use them much and playing as an Adept at the moment. I'll get the ability to use shotguns when I can, have some Vanguard training before importing her.

Well worth the cost, I just wish there was more weapons available on the disc at launch to use.

Yeah, it had a white casing instead of the off-white one it has in game. I'm wondering if it was a discarded design that got re-used in Bioware's latest toy.
