I'm trying to play this game on my ps3 but the music stops all the time, the voices lag, and the video is extremely jittery. Anyone else having problems with this game on their ps3? If so, is there anything that can be done because this lag time is ruining this gaming experiemce entirely. Thanks.

hmm.. wow. By any chance, have you logged onto PSN and updated to the latest version of the PS3 software? Also is your PS3 getting low on hard drive space?

Yeah everything is up to date. However, I do have the 40 GB ps3 and only have 3 GB left on the drive. I wonder if that being low would affect gameplay?

Yep it sure could. See if you can clear off some space.

Unfortunately the only way to defrag a PS3 is to let it sit powered on doing nothing. ugh.

Another way is to go into the system tools and perform a Backup (you need an external hard drive for this that is formatted using FAT32). Then you run a restore using that same external HD and everything will be restored in order and won't need defragging. I've heard it takes about 2 hours.

Yeah I just started to do it and noticed it would take that long so I just deleted a bunch of old game data that I have not played in awhile. I'm about to start the game and see if it runs a bit faster. If not, I'll take your advice and let it sit for awhile to see if the defragging will help. After that, I suppose I'll attempt a format and see if that will change anything. If anyone else has any ideas who may be reading this, I'm all ears! Thanks for the help so far, ChandlerL.

You bet, sir. Let us know if clearing off space helps without doing any extra steps. Would be great for others that run into this issue.

Actually, the scenes did not quicken much after the deletion of various files. I am now at 28 GB open and the cut scenes still can be jittery and lag a bit. However, I turned off subtitles and the majority of the lag went away. I'm not sure why, but this seems like it should be minute for subtitles to slow down a game. But, it did seem to show signs of quicker cut scenes and conversations.

Now, I just let the ps3 stay on standby to see if it defragged and may be faster. So, now I will put subtitles on and see if this changed anything. I will keep this post updated as far as what happens.
