2) Ability to fully customize

Gonna need to be more specific.

Not sure why I need to be more specific, but ok

ability to decide height/weight/build
ability to decide on the colors of the armors/weapons with the ability to change them if I so want
ability to change hairstyles and facial hair in game
scars
tattoos on various places throughout the body not just the head

Well, these things are pretty much a go.

it would be cool if we had companion quests that are only unlockable if you romance that companion.

Like at the apex of your love, he/she tells you his/her darkest secret or fear, and you go both on a quest to fix that. You two alone.

The ability to upgrade and enchant your personal favorite armor and weapon so that it can compete with higher tier ugly equipment.

Perma death of slain party members. Though, perhaps with a difficult/expensive way to bring them back to life.

Newly obtained talents and spells that actually make a difference in battle.

I thought some romances in DAO - Morrigan for males, Alistair for females - turned out to be reasonably plot-relevant. Posted Image

Certainly more than in any other BioWare game I can think of right now, except maybe Bastila in KOTOR.

I'd like some early firearms. Perhaps Qunari developed ones.

I'd like to make a ranged character, but I cannot get past the poncy bows.

Don't they have games with guns already?

Being able to change my hair sometime throughout the game. I mean, come on, this one is set over 10 YEARS! He/she has to get a hair cut sometime!

I'd like to see more class-based dialogue options. A blood mage would get mind control options on certain people (or, get in deep sh*t if he tries to do that against a hardened, veteran templar), a ranger might be able to solve a quest in a different manner if it takes place in a forest/nature area., etc. I loved the fact that you got to go into The Fade yourself to confront Connor's demon if you were a mage, and I'd love to see more content that is tailored to your class.

This would make me happy beyond belief.  One of my favorite parts of PS:T was stat-based dialogue options; the ability to snap a Dustman's neck before he had time to cry out left me sitting there staring slack-jawed at my computer screen.  I guess it could just as easily be rebuilt as class based for DA2.

I hesitate to say it due to the backlash (or perhaps more accurately, wankage) over Mass Effect 2, but I did quite like the Paragon and Renegade interrupt systems.  It made dialogue feel more interactive and more dynamic, not just two talking heads standing there and staring at each other.  I doubt they'd implement it for DA2 given all the whining over the dialogue wheel, but I'd like to see something like that.

Also, the ability to visually customize armor and weapons: color, style, just little things like that so we don't look like we're running around in patchwork gear.  It's a nitpick, but it'd be nice.

Hardly any Fantasy Games. Some idiots seem to think that early, crude firearms kill Fantasy.

Considering you could (as a male) impregnate Morrigan whether you romance her or not, and become (as a female) Alistair's Princess-Consort whether you romance him or not. No. Not plot relevant at all.

Traditional high fantasy rarely includes firearms.  That would give it a more steampunk feel.  Which, since I love steampunk fantasy, I'd be all for.  Can you imagine a quest chain in which Hawke has to face off against qunari firearms?  AWESOME.

I'm with Sable and Dick. Planescape: Torment had some amazing stuff in it. I'd love for class--not necessarily specialization, but class--to leave the player with different options to solve quests.

It makes you feel like you're actually roleplaying if you get to choose what to do rather than every dialogue leading to a big fight unless you're willing to sacrifice XP. I want my RPGs to REWARD me for thinking outside the XP box, not punish me!

Granted, you can't reason with darkspawn most of the time, but I assume we won't only be fighting darkspawn this time.

Horses. I haven't a clue how you'd manage a four-member party when there's only one horse, but there ya go.

What I meant is that, for example, the decision to perform the dark ritual, to trust Morrigan or not, will have a particular emotional "weight" and relevance when the player has a romance with her. Same for putting Alistair on the throne for females. Those romances didn't appear to exist in a vacuum, but could become important in shaping your decisions in the main plot.

If by"plot-relevant romance" we mean one in which choosing a LI  or another would be necessary to the main plot and  lead to radically different outcomes in the central story, well , I personally don't remember playing a Western RPG which did this.  Posted Image

Well I wasn't trying to argue that plot relevant LI are a good thing, I merely stated that imo in DAO it is not plot relevant, and maybe for the better. Just imagine you HAD to romance Leliana in order to get a 'good guy' ending. Posted Image

I don't mean the ending has to be radically different depending on the romance or different at all. I just think that too many times a romance exits in the vacuum of you and your companions and make no real difference to the actual game.
For example you can flirt with Bella (the waitress in Redcliffe Tavern) and even get a kiss from her, your romance partner could be right there as it happens and there is no reaction from them.  I am not saying they have to get all jealous right there, but a ticking off back at camp or some conversation that eventually leads to you learning more about them would be nice

i would like a place for the party besides camp. i was in the dwarven city and found/bought a new powerful rune. i had to go all the way outside the city to change out the rune (and change characters). Some place in each city/major area would have been nice.

The "camp" to change depending on what area of the overworld you're in. In DAO terms: The camp is in a snowy mountain when you're near Orzammar but near the lake when at the Mage tower.

Hair. Good hair for the ladies. And if a NPC has a hairstyle, any hairstyle, it should be available to the player in character creation. There's a couple of really good modded hairstyles out there that I love, and I'd like to see hair like it in DA2. DAO's vanilla hairstyles were BORING!

Like going to a barber shop in a city or village. They have something like that in Lord of the Rings Online. That's a good idea.

I also like the wish about the camp scenery changing depending on what region you're camped in.

Hearing the devs say that the face morphs were being completely redone was awesome, but that doesn't mean the entire customization is redone.
