It's for both.

Thanks for the patch Victor. BTW, are you ever going to discuss the similarities between developing and juggling multiple objects like swords and firesticks so that people can get the idea that patching, developing, as well as dealing with online issues isn't like making a 30 second cup of soup in the microwave?;)

masterpiece slow rune recipie yay!,thank you patch dev team ;). now for everyones favorite boss class enemy in dragon bone wastes loot table to be accessable and awakeing will be as playable as it should have been on release ;). thank you much again patch team your hard work is appreciated here, and lookin forward to enjoying all my paragon runes in future DLCs.

Is patch 1.04 meant to be patch 1.03 on PS3 as that is what occurs when the patch is needed.

I have two game datas on PS3, 1.04 for Origins and 1.03 for Awakening (I have the disc version for the record), this was after the latest update.

So do these changes affect old saves? Or will I have to start a new game for the patch to take effect? And is dexterity fixed? That is all.

The changes do affect old saves, but not all the changes. A re-start is required to get (maybe, depending on your issues) full repair benefit of the patch.

In the case of Awakening, I couldn't access to Anders' quest in my saved game after installing the patch so I guess you need to re-start the game, or at least, start from a previous save (that's what I'm trying)

Apologies for being a little slow on the uptake, but I haven't been playing the game for a while and I was under the assumption that (previously) the damage bonus from Dexterity wasn't being applied to daggers and that a fix for that was coming in this patch.

Quoting Victor from the teaser thread which described the future content of the 1.04 patch:

• Daggers will now properly assign the dexterity-based damage bonus


But if you look at the actual 1.04 patch notes there is no mention of the dexterity fix ....  However, when I just happened to scroll down to read some of the older patch notes, the dexterity fix is listed as being part of the 1.02 patch??

Daggers now apply 0.5 points of damage per additional point in dexterity and 0.5 points of damage per additional point in strength, as originally intended. This increases dagger damage for high-dexterity characters.


I'm a little bit confused ... was the dagger / dexterity fix applied ages ago in the 1.02 patch? or was it in the 1.04 patch but isn't in the notes?

It appears to have been corrected in 1.04 even though not mentioned in the notes. Cant find the post, but there was a bioware post stating that it was mistakenly left out patch notes.

I verified it in game though.

I put in my Awakening disc last night and got the patch prompt, and the patch was referred to as 1.03.

Quick answer:

the linked patch LOG refers ONLY to GENERAL history patch so dagger fixed in 1.02, i'd like to have the ps3 log if exist.

Someone could try if the dex bug is still active with 1.04?



I'am at 70% of the game (origins), i plan to get the patch before play awakening.

Until now, i got only few bugs:

number over head (but for me, only in the fade)

dex bug (never had........i use a mage :)

ps3 or game crash (never happened.....but i bought the game 1 months ago, with the 1.03 active)

have a problem with the dark spawn killing trophies as all you, but i still manage it in the last part of the game :)

Me too, don't know what is witch problem to get 1k killed dark spawn, Is it fix? Do I need to start new game. Don't know. Still playing on old save and trophy master warden won't pop up, but now I have 580 killed dark spawn and when I install the path was 475.

With the ps3 patch 1.03 (and i suspect even more) the killing trophies are counted on the kills of the main character (so i can have 800 darkspawn deaths, and killed only 134 with my mage).

Some say that deaths of dlc don't count..........to me, i get the 100 kills playing return to ostragar! So in the end, there isn't a bug, only a (bad choice) change of rules to get the trophy



Near the end of the game there is a moment in which you can kill many darkspawn, or so they say.....when i will arrive, will say :)



Now i have 635 darkspawn kills, and only got the 100 kills trophy, but i am sure that my mage killed only a few more :)

On the awakening ront, i just completed it, for the most part everything worked fine, hard to tell on damage/dex output cause everyones insanely overpowered in awakening, the instant 100+ bug seems to be completely gone, law & order still screws up Sigrun's sidequest though, so don't do that til you've completed it, i couldn't get Valena's sidequest to activate though i mighta gifted her too much, however i had 1 random map battle the entire game (just mercs) i was never attacked traveling the world map despite many attempts

I have to say that this new patch is working and it greatly reduced the stutter that occurred frequently on the PS3. I experience some slow down when my full party was surronded by 6+ darkspawns. Besides that the game is running so much better.

Another nice thing is I can finally play my Cunning/Dexterity rogue and use her like I want instead of putting all points into Cunning.

THANK YOU BIOWARE!

This is the patch I have been waiting for and it is the best thing, for me, since sliced bread. Not really, but close enough.

 Your confusion lies withing that the PC patch 1.02 fixed daggers, qhil the consoles did not recieve this fix until 1.04.  thus the contradictory entry.

As someone else mentioned before, I too just played through Awakenings after the new patch and Sigrun's personal quest is still glitched if you do Law And Order before doing her quest (for reference, I had merely got the quest and never did it, still couldn't get Sigrun's quest to activate). Also couldn't get Valena's quest to activate at all. I also only got the merc's random battle to appear.
