It was a disappointment to Leliana not to look like the SA one. Or make the trailer models like the in-game models. I know there isn't a trailer yet, but just to make sure.

I'd certainly go for this, I far preferred the Sten in the Sacred Ashes trailer to the bloated panto dame he was in the game, I also preferred Morrigans look in the trailer, Leliana's I liked in both.

A Sten without a beard is a sad Sten indeed.

The trailer was not done in-house IIRC, so the studio that did create them took the liberty of their own interpretation. Anyhow, I like how the Sacred Ashes trailer shows the party fighting darkspawn, when the entire Redcliffe/Urn of Sacred Ashes quest chain doesn't involve any darkspawn at all.

I was disappointed when I saw Leliana in-game. Good thing there's mods.

Whenever you have a create-a-character engine, it's hard to have the super detailed faces that are possible on top-notch graphical engines with face-capture technology and such.

How about make the trailer models like the in-game models ?

The CGI non-canon trailer wasn't done by BioWare

The other option would be to have dedicated NPC face morphs/textures built outside of the character creator, as evident in Mass Effect 2.

Of course ME2 had some nice looking NPCs/companions, while its character creator failed to deliver. Just hold out and see if their character creation demos/previews prove any good.

I agree with the complains about the trailer, it was nothing more than false advertising

Wrong forum, no?

And trailers always lie. Nothing new about that. I wish they did slightly better with Sten's appearance, though. Oh, and I cringe every time Morrigan says "bones" of a madwoman. You mean ashes. Itty bitty detail, but still.

I don't think it is in the wrong forum, the post is to ask for avoiding a mess as it was with the trailer for DA1

Agreed. Bioware should keep the characters how they envisioned them, not how Blur Studio imagined them.

Trailer Morrigan looks like Stockard Channing (Rizzo in Grease) as a teenage mall goth and I can NOT get over it. It freaks me out a little.

I much preferred game Morrigan. She had a much more elegant look.

Hmm...you're right, but it's a little odd since we don't have a trailer yet, we don't know if there'll be a CG trailer or not, and we don't even know what any of the characters besides Hawke, Bethany, and Flemeth look like rendered.

Whatever face Bioware uses in the trailers should be one of the presets! Especially if they use one easily made in the character creator.

Yeah trailer Leliana is very cute. Sten, eh. He is much more handsome in the trailer but he looks too human. He already looks too human in the game in my opinion but it's worse in the trailer.

Wouldn't it be easier to make the trailer ones look like the in-game ones instead?

If this topic isn't going to talk about DA2, then I'm going to have to shut it down or move it to the Da General Discussion forum.

Making trailers while using the actual models from the game would be much better indeed. No excuses now BioWare!

Im wondering if we will get to play the Hawke as he looks in the screens or if, like with DAO, we will have to make him ourselfs and be irritated abut not getting it right. (after many tryes I still cant get the DAO guy from the ingame-trailers right)
