I checked around the FAQ and Google for the answer but I found no solution (and I'm woefully inept at reading computer mumbo-jumbo, so I may have missed it entirely). I just received my copy of Baldur's Gate 4 in 1 Boxset. It contains both games and their expansions. I was able to install the first three successfully, and I'm now at Throne of Bhaal.

When I attempt to install it, it tells me to insert my game into the D:\\\\ drive. It's there, but it's just not reading it. When I [Browse...] for it, the computer even shows me that it's there with its files, but I can't select it successfully. I was wondering if anyone knew what the problem is and if they can help? I have Windows 7, and if more details or screenshots are needed, I'll provide, of course.

I would be much obliged! =]

It is good etiquette to say you've asked the same question some place else as well.

I can recommend installing ToB at the same time as you install SoA, but if you've already started playing that's not relevant now.

What do you mean when you say you can't "select it successfully"? If using the launcher to install the game does not work any other solution will involve manually navigating to the disc and manipulating its contents.

Is it? I was fairly rude when I asked last time, so I figured this is the one that "counts".

No, I haven't already started playing.

Generally a game automatically selects your D drive to find the disk--like it does in this case, only it reads it's not there. When I hit "browse" to find it, I can see it there and its files, but when I select it, it continues to tell me there's nothing there.

Maybe you won't get any help in the Widescreen mod forum. But if you do it is nice for people posting here to know about it so they can avoid repeating it, etc.

If you have access to a second computer you should try installing the game there to rule out or confirm problems with the ToB disc.

I may have had the same problem. When installing ToB you need to put your original disc (SoA) back in for about 20% of the download. Then you put the ToB back in.

Hope that helps.
