Get Rid of blue ringed npcs they have no use and ruin the games combat

The fun of the game isn't the actual visuals of the combat itself, the fun is the strategy and seeing the occasional death animations as a warrior or rogue.
Either make the blue ringed npcs yellow temporaily so you can get exp and actually control them or don't have them, they **** up the games stratedgy and cause major stuttering which just looks horrid and sucks every bit of fun out of the games combat.
Bump this thread if you're ****ing tired of blue ringed npcs stealing your kills and exp, cluttering the battlefield and ruining the the strategy that makes this game fun, if bioware sees how bad this is and how many people hate it I'm sure they'll have sense enough to change it.

They should not be made part of your group, they ARNT part of it, they are allies, you work with them, not control them. If your strategy is so stagnent that a flowing battlefield is too much, then the NPCs arnt the problem, you are.

But now I realized that you can easily get to level 25 by the end of the game by use of the supply crates and crafting materials for the elves I don't care as much; the only ones losing out are the werevolves, since I don't help them massacre the elves anymore. It is not ideal and they should change the way xp are given for combat.
The "major clutter in combat" is annoying, but since they already said that they have changed the combat so that you and your companions do not shuffle into position anymore before delivering a blow to your enemy, it shouldn't be such a problem in DA2.
If they do not occur to often I really like those battles now, sometimes they can have an epic feel to them and I do hope there will be some great ones in DA2.

The first 3 playthroughs I was really pissed off by those "blue ringed npcs" and I completely understand the frustration. I reloaded every time I had whittled down a big enemies health bar only to have one of those bastards turn around at the last moment to deliver the killing blow - it just s*cks!

LOL finally someone knew what I was talking about. I'll try the supply crates this time around as I'm trying to make a even better character before I import to origins. Good to know that they are fixing the stuttering before attacking though. I wouldn't mind if exp was given as well but I couldn't have said it better about how you get them down a ton then like 4 blue rings come around and kill him before you have any chance to.

While we are on topic anyone else notice how sometimes certain temporary companions won't give your group exp when they get kills IE Daveth, Jory, Eleanor.
Yes, those who are by default not part of your group for very long don't get xp and do not provide them for the group either. I always set their tactics to self - any -> wait and do the fighting with the rest.
OT:
Another thing about Daveth that really bugs me: He is supposed to be a criminal and thief who got conscripted by Duncan and he can't even pick locks!

I know what you mean. I was in the forest with him and I was like wtf when he wasn't opening the chest.
anyways I checked the dragon age wikia and apparently elf roots give no exp for the consoles
Which sucks for me, I would get it for pc but my graphics card sucks so until a dish out a 1000 dollars or so the highest thing I can run on pc is morrowind.

Behold the great Hero of Ferelden who has single handedly weakened many zombie with several chops from his great sword so that a fat bartender can jump in and kill it with a dagger.

I suppose being able to control them would be nice, or at least give them general orders like hold position, attack, defend, jump off a cliff etc.

There was also Leiliana when you first meet her, but she didn't really do anything.

Is there any way to unbump a thread if you think the OP has a horrible idea?
I'd start by not asking rhetorical questions.
I jest, I jest!

A number doesn't pop up over their head indicating experience gained, but I'm pretty sure they do give experience to the group for their kills.

Yeah...I just stopped caring after a while...as in the third reload. I decided Murdoch and his crew were all in fact horribly suicidal, and I was doing them and their families a favor by setting them all on fire.
Maybe something as simple as making them immune to friendly fire could do it. Stupid villagers. Too flammable for their own good.

Strange. I always got the helmet on the game and no one ever died in my game. Maybe you should do the village thing later or maybe you are just horrible at friendly fire. The undead aren't THAT tough
