not sure if question has been posted here earlier, but are geth pulse rifle, new geth shotgun and m-37 incisor sniper rifle affected by weapon upgrades since they don't show version letter a-f after them.
If they are not affected by upgrades, wouldn't it be much more useful to use basic upgraded weapons instead or are they so overpowered even without upgrades?

no, at least it doesn't have letter after m-37 to signify version change

As far as i know only the names are unaffected by upgrades. They affect them like every other weapon.

iirc there is something to do with DLC weapons that dont always change their names right.

It's apparently been acknowledged that DLC weapons don't have their names changed due to upgrades. I can't give you a firm link to it though, perhaps someone else who knows where an official explanation is. They do benefit from the upgrades though.
