Here comes Hawke with his sword on a stick,
He could be a nice guy, he could be a d**k.
Ahem, anywho, I'll probably play good. I always do *because Dragon Age has a way of making me feel bad for abusing NPCs. :/ *

:innocent: I always end up being a nice guy, I can't help it...yeah...even when I'm deliberately trying to be bad in a videogame. It kind of makes getting achievements hard sometimes.
Unless it's the Sims, then I traped people inside with nothing fun but a firework launcher and let nature take its course.

LOL, encouraging Sims to die is not evil. Simply natural selection at work.

Like making Bhelen king. He murders his opponent, he's a ruthless, power-hungry brother-murderer. But he's also the best of all candidates to do what's best for the dwarven people as he brings prosperity and victories in the deeproads.
My warden learns that sometimes you have to crack some eggs to make an omelet.
My Hawke will be ruthless. He will view the current world order as deeply flawed and feels the need to sow chaos and disorder around so that it can be remade. He laso loathes his own people, humanity. They're the root of all evil which plagues Thedas and someone has to do what's needed, otherwise the humans will bring the end of the native peoples of Thedas.
The Qunari my hawke will crush without mercy.

For Hawke I'm probably gonna go a similar route, except maybe a little more willing to take on responsibility in the beginning.

If Hawke is the oldest Sibling then they have the responsibility of looking out for the rest of the family and when they arrive in Kirkwall so be good start

My second playthrough: Male, rogue, "chaotic neutral"
Staying in character during my second playthrough will probably be tough as I tend to feel very guilty when I play a total a**. I would really love to play an evil character, since they fascinate me, but every time I attempt to play one, I fail horrible

Lawful good Paladins always fare better in Bioware games.

I usually do not pick sadistically evil choices just for lulz except in my "for the evulz" run.

Ya, I actually find evil to be boring. I always/usually play good. I have yet to slaughter the mages, recruit the werewolves, kill Connor or his mom, or save the anvil. I've played DA:O 5+ times, too. I doubt I'll ever get those achievements.
I made my husband get all the "evil" achievements for me, sad as that is.
And I, also, find that playing an evil character is less interesting. I would have a hard time identifying with my own character, because I could never (well, hardly ever) make decisions I thought were immoral.
Also, I always sorta felt like I was sort of "jumping on the bandwagon," as it were, because I feel a lot of people play evil characters just because it's "cool." "Oh, I'm so cool, my character is eeeeevil."
That's not to say that I don't make renegade decisions from time to time (punched any reporters lately?). But overall, I prefer the gentler way.
Of course, that's one of the wonderful things about Bioware games. Think I'm full of crap? Make a badass!
To each their own, I suppose.

I do as I will, and what I will changes from from minute to minute. Whatever feels right or best or most advantageous... whatever. I help people who don't bother me, destroy those who do. I trek through this great chaos called existence, with all it's wonderfully chaotic order and orderly chaos. What is anything, for that matter? What determines the value of a thing? Invariably, I must look to within. And within cares very little for silly philosophical concepts, burdensome altruism, or meaningless cruelty.
Flow like water around rocks, like wind through the trees. Let existence, desire, need, want, love, hatred... let it all just do as it must, go where it wills, and pass from a single moment to a single moment, always fleeting, yet somehow eternal.
*insert more of whatever you think I'm talking about here*
