For those that have played this character:

How effective is a Warrior using a 2 handed weapon?

Where should I put my attribute points as a 2 hander?

Two-handed is quite effective. As far as attributes, Strength is king. Despite your best efforts, you will be the target of enemies quite a bit so some Con always helps.

You have the opportunity to have a weapon forged for you at some point in the game. If you pick a two-handed sword you get a great weapon that lasts you for a long, long while.

Your attacks are slow but you do massive damage. I suggest precise attacks, you will not hit often so its better to make each swing count so you miss less. I'd say con at at least 20 and bump willpower to 20. You need the stamina. Perfect strike is good for the accuracy boost. massive swing is great when you get 2h strength to reduce the penlities. With perfect strike you'll do massive damage each hit and even more against constructs. The level 3 talent that gives each hit a chance to stun is great as well.

I say a mage is better at taking out hordes since 2h attacks way too slow but your 2h warrior with a Maul is the best at taking out armored leaders/bosses. You'll rip those guys apart. Have no fear of Orges, your 2h warrior will eat them alive. Each hit with that level 3 talent has a chance to stun as will which only makes you even more effective aganist boss.

Basicly, 2h warriors kill bosses.

Just take a real Tank Warrior with you (threaten, taunt) and have Wynne learn the Haste Spell, then go to town with the 2h painstick.

Primary Strength and secondary Willpower. Those are the only two stats you need for a 2-handed damage dealer.

Should you use the best armour you can as a 2Her or should you use lighter armour?

You'll easily have the strength for it, so you may as well go with massive armor. I'd put your tank in your best suit and your 2-hander guy in your second best suit of plate.

My main character is a 2-hander berserker/templar, and he is doing just shy of 50% of the party damage output.

Stats > Armor rating when it comes to dedicated damage dealing. My Oghren is using a pair of leather boots which offer 5% melee crit chance. There is no way I'm sacrificing that for 2 armor.

A damage dealing 2-handed warrior can chew up a lot of stamina, especially a berserker. Only a tank should be kept in full Massive Armor.

Honestly 2h is a pain in the beginning, once you get higher lvl and pump up dex some, its starts getting good, but the road to glory is **** :)
