No but really, I've been hoping for this and I wouldn't be at all surprised if it happens. I thought Nate was pretty awesome.

Note: We planned this.
Note2: Wonder how many other side references are actually foreshadowing?
Note3: "The part that will really bake your noodle is whether you would have broken the vase if I hadn't said anything."

Aw, crap. Now I feel bad for killing him.
I don't!
In fact, I'm going to load up Awakening and kill him again just for kicks

Does anyone recall all the epilogues for Nathaniel? Were any of them open to him returning to Kirkwell after the events in Awakening?
I think one of them has him retiring from the Wardens but I don't think it says where he goes. So maybe?

I'd say all of them except the one in which he dies would allow him to revisit Kirkwall, if not relocate there.

Even though I usually play Couslands, Ilike for Nathaniel, he is by far the most interesting character in Awakening. Saying that though, I liked Velanna when no-one else in the world did.
I played a Cousland as my main Warden and spared Nateanial. He pointed out that he was in the Free Marches and had no idea what his father was doing (which is why he still belived I had "unjustly" murdered him). So hanging him out of spite simply because he was a Howe is as evil as Howe having your nephew killed in the human noble origin simply because the kid was a Cousland.
By the end of Awakening, Nate realizes his father was a D-bag and becomes a total bro with the human noble warden anyway.

I didn't like Velanna, but I have to say the Velanna/Nathaniel banter was among the best in the game.TheDayWarden wrote...

Nathaniel was possibly my favorite companion though. Very stoked to see what his involvement will be (even if it'll be minor).

Nice one. So that "all this travelling reminds me of that one year in Kirkwall" may refer to DA2?
Cool.

But if Hawke arrives in Kirkwall before the events of Awakening no doubt he will at least make a cameo if not a temporary companion.

Yay Nathaniel! With his relative normalcy and his not being insane like a lot of the other NPCs! He needs a hug. Maybe there'll be an opportunity to give the poor guy a hug in DA2.
