I second this!
Be nice to have a little “one on one” time with Nate.

Does anyone recall all the epilogues for Nathaniel? Were any of them open to him returning to Kirkwell after the events in Awakening?
DA2 starts in the middle of DAO which makes it start a good year (possibly) before Awakening. So its very possible to meet Nate in the begining of DA2 and even have him as a companion in the beginning.
What would be cool and interesting is when the carry over from Awakening affects the MIDDLE of the game instead of the beginning like Mass Effect 1 and 2.

Yep, I think Mike Laidlaw gave a pretty big hint that we will at least meet him at that stage. But then we know that he returns to Fereldan. What I was wondering was whether he then went back to the Free Marches. After all DA2 does take place over 10 years. I think there is a reasonable chance that he could end up in the second half of DA2 as well as the start. However the epilogue could rule that out, or obviously if your warden killed him.HTTP 404 wrote...

I feel that it would be a loose end that would need to be tied for Hawke to find out the fate of Nate in Awakening if Nate is in DA2

In all honesty, Nate's character arc was pretty fast.
Yeah, went from hating to befriending you in a matter of moments. Although, I suspect it's for his own safety (people would've murdered him if he was always an ass) and the overall length of the DLC.

It would be pretty good if we met him at the start when he's 'just' a rogue, then we run into him again later on (assuming he wasn't killed in Awakenings) as a Grey Warden.

It would be amusing to be able to comment on this as Hawke when/if you meet Nathaniel again after the events of Awakening.
"What do you mean, you have become his/her friend and a Grey Warden? What about all that "You killed my father, prepare to die" posturing?"

Nathaniel spent a year in Kirkwall? It's like we planned this!
Note: We planned this.

Note3: "The part that will really bake your noodle is whether you would have broken the vase if I hadn't said anything."
Talking about foreshadowing....I wonder how many notes from Arl Foreshadow are connected with DA2?

I really liked Nathaniel, I think he was the best npc in Awakening... although that is not hard at all.
I personally think that he makes the best candidate for *Warden Commander* after the original hero has departed in mysterious circumstances.
I always see Nathaniel as redeeming his household (one ending) and then being Arl of Amaranthine again because the people trust him as the Warden Leader after the sudden loss of our own hero...
Bring on the *actual* character development!!

Ser Pounce-a-lot belongs to Anders.
Can someone please tell me what's the deal with the third note? How is that related and what am I missing here?

It's a Matrix reference. Something to do with whether being told the future actually creates (or affects) that future or not. Time stuff always confuses me. Away, Star trek, away with you!

Thankyou Q, but no. I do NOT wish to be sent back in time in order to solve a problem that would not have existed had I not been sent back in time in order to solve a problem that would not have ..... Aargh! Thanks anyway.
PS I love John de Lancie! x
