Circumstantial. The Geth forced her entire race off their homeworld, I'd assume thats going to raise any tentions between the two to near brawling levels. In the initial phases of ME3 I'm expecting quite a few near violent conflicts between the two.

the progression is unnatural. They seem to be completely mismatched. I
can definitely agree that there might be infatuation if the path is
pursued but nothing more than that. And I could understand that they
might hurry up the relationship, Tali spends weeks planning it and she
risk her own life for sex, that argument applies more to the other
romances.
How are they unmatched? According to Tali, Quarians can be intimate with other species, its just difficult, or artificial. Again, "Tomorrow we may die" speeds things up. Shepard even says that he himself didnt have high excpectations to survive the mission. I really can never blame anybody wanting to move faster into a relationship if it is about to be cut off completly. Actually, the only time I havent seen that cliche used to speed up a romance was when the author/writer specifically draws attention to the cliche nature.

Now, really, don't be throwin' the stupid word at me! I was only joshing, honest.
You see why I thought along these lines - you criticized Miranda, and said that horny gamers do her romance because of her body, but Tali fans are different, they like Tali solely for her personality.
Considering I'm a Miranda fan, I thought I reacted with considerable lightheartedness - I didn't say, for instance, how much I hate the way people try to say the only ones who like Miranda's romance are horny male gamers. I like her for her personality. I think her body is absolutely ridiculous.
