Infinte experience glitch (Therum)

A lot of you probably already know about this but I couldn't find a thread mentioning it so I thought I'd mention it for the newer players to maybe take advantage of, or people just trying to reach level 60 without playing through pretty much every mission twice.

Someone uploaded a YouTube video explaining it clearly so I don't need to go into too much detail here. But basically, you use the mining laser to free Liara (A, X, B, Y) and then wait for it to give you the XP, then immediately save, reload, it gives you the XP again, save, reload, more XP and so on. I believe it scales with level, unlike a similar glitch on Feros which only gives you like 12 each time.

Its quicker and easier just to bring up the console and type in the command to give yourself the amount of experience you need.

Not an option for the 360 - which the OP is referring to (A,X,B,Y).

How long would it take to get from, say, 10-15 to 60 using this? How many reloads approximately?

I tried this once, going from 17 to 35 (when the levels stopped being 2 points) and it took approximately 9 saves to go up 1 level.

I just started a 5th playthrough, with a female Adept (ON INSANITY) . I'm trying to reach lvl 60 in one playthrough. I have already done the glitch with Liaria. I stoped at lvl 35, to get the VII upgrades. I am currently at lvl 39, with only 25% of the game behind me. I went to Bring Down The Sky, for the Rocket Drone respawn, but they stop after 5-6. I have tried everything I can think of. Including not killing any of the Barts.

Any ideas? Otherwise it's back before Liaria, get the VII upgrades and THEN use the sav/rel glitch.

Level 60 in one playthrough is impractical even with the mining laser glitch due to the disproportionate XP scaling from 57 to 60. See: http://masseffect.wi...m/wiki/Leveling

The most I've gotten in a single playthrough is about 605,500 XP with this blondie. And that required using the mining laser glitch twenty times. I have all the +% XP achievements. All the respawn glitches were exploited. Even killed a geth Colossus guarding the Conduit on foot.

After 4 playthroughs, i have never killed anything with the Mako. I don't have a problem with grinding for a couple of hrs. If the XPs are there, it's a lot more practical to do that, than spend 20+ hrs on another playthrough.

Thanks for posting the Wiki link. I have been using that sight, and it has proven to be very helpful in the past. My strat to get there is not to reach lvl 60 from the glitch, but to reach a reasonable lvl prior to the last 25% of the game. I can't remember (WOW big surprise there) what piont in the game, I reached lvl 59. So if anybody has that approx location, please post your thoughts.

You're talking about saving/reloading close to 400 times to go from 57 to 60.  It would be almost as fast (and a lot less boring) to just do a storyline playthrough and then do a completionist run for transfer.  You are only talking three more talent points, and only a couple of levels on transfer.  With the dlc for ME2 the level 60 transfer stuff becomes a lot less needed due to the extra credits/xp

I have all the achivs already. It's been a while since my last playthrough. You're correct, the few extras for a 60 transfer doesn't  give reason to playthrough more than once for ANY future games. Let alone try to grind for enough XPs to do it in one.
