There's still room for imagination in games - so you could rename some of the Ferelden creatures.

It's not for anyone here to express a legal opinion, but as a practical hobbyist I'd say most of the words you've used there are standard English - for example, when the Normans invaded England in 1066, we called them "orcs" (now we know better and are great friends).

if you want a wide varity of monsters i would point you right to neverwinter nights 2. the toolset is very similar but without the modstopping bugs the da:o one suffers from.

right now for da:o there are no new monsters released. the baldur's gate redux creators made an imp and a new stone golem. perhaps they will create other dnd type monsters and throw them out for a public release.

hopefully one day some modler will..  Im definatly not one that can do that.  But i know many new monsters were made for the original never winternights tool set..   granted this is barely 8 months in so ill just keep faith.

I really love the tool set and the options are endless.. but for some of those old school dnders like me.. its just hard not to see some of these classics.

you might be interested in what we're doing over at Baldurs Gate Redux... we have an orc, a goblin, a mephit and a clay golem already. I dare say in future modules we'll be working our way through the others too :) Screenshots available below.

yea.. i saw some info on it.. it sounds pertty neat..  Personally i thought making a  sword coast remake would be really cool..   But not remake the story..  just the lands.  make a whole new story after the child of baul had passed through.

im starting work on a mini mod myself.  Its a short story that takes place after the arch demon is killed. I wanna make it a lvl 20 adventure, and not have any XP gain.  (not sure if thats posible ot not)

I decided to just reuse some areas and make my own story. this tool set is very daunting in comparison to what i used in NWN 1.  I may end up trying to make a haunted castle though. I dunno, the wardens keep would work with some mods though.    I descided instead of modding the main game, it might be easier to just take a lesson from bio-ware and do something similar to lilanna's story.  A short stand on its own module.,  Blood mages, templar, and hoards of darkspawn.. Its a quest involving a character from the main campian that i thought was really interesting and would of made a good compainion.  Im trying to decide if i wanna make 2 NPC's, just one, or even 3..

its taken me a while just to even graps some basics, much harder than nvn's tool set.

Yes, it's possible.

If you just want to suppress XP for kills, you need to override the DYING event in the creature script - dummy out the RewardXPParty line.

There is some other stuff that hands out fairly trivial XP, such as the codex and rogue biz, which you can suppress if you're bothered.
