If the game fable when you enter the collosium. There is a place where you can give your character a nick name and from their on people call you that. In the oblivion their is always a small part where you can give your character an already picked nickname.

I'm thinking this is just a feature if Bioware has time they should let us give our hawkes a nickname. Give us like Fifteen or so nicknames already available to be called and every once in a while while we are walking around as our hawkes an NPC will call us by that name. I think it would very interesting and to make it even better let our hawke's through dialogue react to what we would like. (To simplify the best I know how.)

Hawke gets choosen nick name by the player. Hawke reacts to the nickname by player choice with a eck or cool. Simple easy. Depending on your hawkes success NPC's in the game will chant your nick name or they will hate it. This can be done. If fable could do it on Xbox and Oblivion could do it. I think Bioware could do it easy.

Fifteen nicknames would call for fifteen times the voice cast work fo applicable lines, I like the idea but I don't see it as being financially viable

Maybe for an arena area and afterwords every once in awhile you would be called that by an NPC. I think that would be financially. OK. It would be to much money. I don't remember how many nicknames they had in Fable or Oblivion, but they were closed to it.

Agreed, it would work nicely in a closed area.

Actually, I'm starting to think of Hawke as a nick name. Maybe your real last name was lost to time when these stories are being told about you. Maybe someone you first encountered said something like, "He/she has the eyes of a hawk, man you are as swift as a hawk, lightening reflexes like a hawk." It just started being presumed that was your last name. LOL

Or he's covered in feathers and eats his dinner with his feet, like a hawk?

Who's to say he's hasn't learned shapeshifting (if a mage)! :P

Each and every thread asking for something in this forums has someone saying this. If Bioware doesn't have the money to do something well made, they shouldn't do it. That's why they are doing it. Not that they are going to listen to everyone, but I've seen a lot of good suggestions being buried to oblivion by these people.

I'd very much like to see it happen, in my opinion it won't for the reason I stated, which is only opinion.

To be honest I would prefer they gave us a set first and second name as it will be just too weird having your own sister call you by your last name.

Which I also gave a very nice little solution for which could be cost effective. I guess we forgot that part huh

I could see it happening for a small sequence like the Coliseum but anything further? Unlikely.

David Gaider said in another thread that people refer to you as Hawke less than they did Warden in Origins. Those close to you will call you Hawke and others will use honorifics or human (if they are another species).

I'd imagine Bethany would just call you brother or sister though.

Yeah, that would be the idea of the nickname.
