Speaking of insects, I have an intense fear of giant moths.

But moths are all fuzzy and harmless.

I went outside when I was young and there was a swarm of them, they were huge and kept flying straight into my eyes and mouth. I've been unable to deal with them since then.

Childhood trauma, huh? Ok I'll give it a pass.

My fear of mantids stems directly from being chased hunted by one when I was five. Like that thing was out for murder. I cried and cried and cried. I can honestly say it's also the only thing that I'm afraid of that, when I see it, I go into a screaming rage and try to brutally squash the thing.

My friend purchased one of those candy bar things with crushed insects inside, his consisted only of prey mantis. I can't tell if that creeps you out or makes you happy that a few had to die to fuel the candy machine.

Now that is disgusting... There are candy bars with crushed insects inside? And people buy them? Well, once again I'm convinced Europe and North America can't possibly be on the same planet. Image IPB

Insects are very good for you--much higher in protein than steak is, actually. Not that I'd ever eat one, but still.

And, Dave...I...don't know what to think. I think "disgust" is correct. Right?

I have no good reason for hating spiders other than the typical evolutionary fear response toward poisonous critters. No good story, nothing remotely interesting. My dislike is utterly boring. My friends, however, find my reactions rather humorous and will torture me if the opportunity arises. I squeal like a little girl and probably drop quite a few IQ points.

On a related topic to candied insects, my dad once ate a grasshopper because he thought it had tobacco in it. :)

Sure. High protein, low fat, very plentiful. Sustainable food source, right there.

My "ex-girlfriend" (long story) used to be extremely fearful of spiders that they'd physically shut down at seeing one in World of Warcraft and would only be able to play if we killed them all and place their bodies far from them.

Wow (no pun intended), that is an intense fear. I'm thinking MMOs aren't the games for her. They almost always have spider as a beast type.

Yeah, it wasn't fun when they were the main tank of a raid filled with spiders.

This qunari is like, ...dude. I would finally get a fun bisexual relationship if they'd make me a lady qunari in game. LOL. Oh this qunari lady is well drawn too.

And I'll raise from hell to put anyone who mutters about female drow
resemblance outside the BioWare forums to torch, pitchfork,
tar and feathers.

Thedas isn't  an AD&D forgotten realms continent and q'nari aren't drow,
dagnabit shagnasty!

:bandit::wizard:

Edit:
@ the commotion about insects as food:
and this from folks who probably eat insects like lobster, crayfish and
garnets without a (second) thought ;)

I'm liking the music played at the end of the podcast. Am I being dense, was that in DAO? I didn't listen to the first podcast, could it be new music for DA2 or am I way off the mark?

Other than that an enjoyable listen, thanks to Victor and Matt for doing it for us. I don't see the problem with the concept art, love the new look for the Qunari as it stays faithful to how I imagine them yet giving them a new edge. Judging by that image the other races will be mostly the same as before, but what changes there are seem fine if not for the better.

Look forward to the next podcast. :)
