Actually, I'd prefer a character not fitting the good and evil archtypes. Leliana was too good while Morrigan was too 'evil'. Somebody with their own personal opinions would be amazing.

For example, an elf that hates humans and loves it when you help her people and take care of them but she has a strong distaste for mages and she'd gladly let them die if they were elves or not.

Leil has personal opinions. They just were stupid.

Her personal opinions were always biased to be good, though.

Help people? APPROVAL.
Give money to poor? APPROVAL.
Let murderers escape? APPROVAL.
Kill people? DISAPPROVAL.
Don't give money to poor? DISAPPROVAL.
Kill murderers that attacked you? DISAPPROVAL.

Reverse that with Morrigan.

that doesn't sound bad, but she would've to be someone with who you can also get when she disapproves... in case youre different opinion in like every situation...

Following the Dragon Age approval system, it wouldn't be too hard. My holier-than-thou paladin character had all companion approval to 100 and romanced Morrigan, even though Morrigan / Sten and Zevran were my crew and disapproved of everything I did.

DA:O did a fairly decent job of this, but god the ME2 crew was so riddled with family issues that my Earthborn Shepard decided families were not worth the bother, and we should just all go qunari style.

Shepard: Alright guys, let's stop the Collec-

Tali: Father! *cries*
Miranda: Sister and father! *cries*
Thane: Son! *cries*
Jacob: Father! *cries*
Mordin: Assistant! *cries*
Jack: Ex-boyfriend! *cries*
Kasumi: Ex-boyfriend too! *cries*
Samara: Daughter! *cries*
Morinth: Mother! *cries*
Legion: Geth! *artifical cries*
Zaeed: VIIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTTTTTOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Garrus: SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDONNNNNNNNISSSSSSSSSSSSS!

Shepard: Yeah.. I can't deal with this, Grunt - you down for killing some collectors?
Grunt: Sorry brah, can't. Just hit puberty.

Grunt honestly felt like your family issue. It was one step away from ''What does it mean to have scales grow in places you never had scales before...''

If we cut down on the baggage, that would be awesome. I liked how Ashley had no real personal baggage to heave onto you. Sure, she had the whole family-is-a-traitor martyr complex, but at the very least that didn't translate into her whinning about it. She was actually very, very, unwilling to talk about it, which was almost as good as Kaidan pointing out he wasn't a whiner.

Leliana's you're the loviest love of loving love that I've ever loved with love was also a little off putting.

I am now highly disappointed I did not get to have a conversation like this with Grunt. I think I might have died laughing.

Oh god or witnessing something like that between Mordin and Grunt. Even better!

Yea, I want an emo chick ;)

But seriously, now I'm in love with the qunari. Sten always looked like **** so I didnt give a flying F. But now? I hope the models in the game will be as juicy. And I wanna a qunari female companion - romancable? Might be as well, but I want a substance not some gift taking empty socket.

Now I see great oportunities of conflict - should she follow Hawke? What about the way of qun? Will she abandon all her life and ideals for one man? how strong a character should Hawk be?

And heres a catch I want certain circumstances if romancing/gaining allies. Some of your deeds should reflect on the relations and sometimes compeletely cut off the romance/affinity/alliance...get my drift?

King Alistair / Queen Anora: Hawke, you've come to the court of Ferelden seeking help in the Free Marshes. Why have you done so?
Hawke: We require aid, your majesty. We're being attacked and desire help.
King Alistair / Queen Anora: Yet, you've romanced a female Qunari?
Hawke: So?
King Alistair / Queen Anora: You won't be getting our armies, send them into the stocks. Prepare their execution.
<10 minutes later in the prison cell>
Hawke: What the hell just happened?

Oh come on, Alistair wouldn't do that.

If I went back through time and said Liara was going to be a cold manipulating biatch on the ME1 forums, nobody would've believed me because it was completely against her character in the first game.

Alistair is the DA version of Liara, maybe?

I'd like an elf romance, especially given the prejudice. I like the kind of character development you get with someone who overcomes preconceptions.

Hrm. Good point. Well, I married him to my Warden. She'll keep him in line. Maybe if you killed off his true love though, he becomes a jerk.*

*for a preview of jerky Alistair just go play Uncharted 2!

You know Alistair only becomes king if you tell him that everyone is fundamentally only out for themselves. Consider that.

Not true at all. You can put unhardened Al on the throne, he just rules better if he's hardened.

I don't play females. How do you put him on the throne if he normally only agrees to it after being hardened?

Alistair always agrees to it unless you pick Anora. He just doesn't crown himself at the Landsmeet.
