I don't play females. How do you put him on the throne if he normally only agrees to it after being hardened?

??? i usually dont put him on the throne for i prefer killing him or ruining his life or something.... but in the rare cases i do make him king he always does, even if i usually dont harden him. he just gets angry about it and disapproves....

He doesn't only agree to it if he's hardened, is what I'm saying. You can do it without being Queen too.

Yeah he'll just be extremely cranky with you when you talk to him after the coronation.

I'd like to see either an honor and duty driven female warrior who's somewhat world weary or a somewhat (less than Morrigan) opinionated Dalish hunter who doesn't want to fall in love with a human because of the whole quickening and loss of the old ways thing but slowly starts to change her views.

I see. I don't really get why anyone wants him to be on the throne. He'd be such a lousy ruler. And he knows it, too. I loved the character, but the flaws are all part of that.

Harden him and he's an amazing ruler.

If you harden him he actually turns out to be a great ruler. Shocking I know.

one of the things that are freaking me off about alistair: disapproves because i made him king, even tough putting anora on the throne would most likely include him losing his head. same thing on the arl. i killed the mages, so i couldn't do that one to help the arls family. still, alistair disapproved minus 20 xD

I kind of thought Mhairi would be like that, but she died before we got a chance to really know her. Poor thing.

But Alistair isn't the type of guy to think of such things, he's more of somebody who deals with things when they are infront of him. He probably didn't even realise Anora would want that.

Think what an amazing general he'd be though, you'd just need to set him up with a war room that included a Warhammer-style map with little dudes to move around.

If you make a deal with Anora from hour one, it's a lot easier to put her on the throne.  She doesn't get all confrontational, and at the Landsmeet she just asks Alistair to relinquish any claim he or his descendents have to the throne, which he happily does.

I want someone who isn't chaotic stupid. I couldn't take a romance with Morrigan seriously because she wouldn't shut up with the suggestions/complaints, and every single one of them was along the lines of "lets do what wont help us succeed at all." Except for that, her general demeanor was great. In contrast Leliana had a great personality but never had any suggestions at all, really, helpful or not.

A younger version of Wyne would be made of win.

But in all honesty I'll take one that can just shut the hell up for two seconds. Seriously Leliana and Morrigan talked way too much.

It's so funny that you say that. In the "What male companion do you want" thread, the women are saying that the male lovers didn't talk enough.

I'm just noting the difference in what male and female gamers want for their LI's.

That depends on how he plays with his toy soldiers.

nahhhh, to easy to trick. youd just need a really abled spy that changes all figures that represent the enemy with figures looking like duncan and all figures that represent the allied forces with figures of hurlock alphas with big nasty axes. and *bing* war is won xD.

I just had the "shoe conversation" with Leliana in my current play through. All I could keep thinking while nodding, smiling and pretending to be interested was "STFU about the stupid shoes already!!!"

That conversation just made me want to take Leli and Morri shopping. <3

Oh how we would traumatize Morri.

Yeah, but your boyfriend doesn't give two shakes about the shoes so why make him suffer through listening to you talk about it? :P

no.. don't speak for all of us, please

I liked all the dialogues I had with Leliana. I read many people elsewhere complaining about sex scenes, saying they must do it better or don't do it at all, and so on.. Well, for me they can also keep in game the scenes with panties and bra because I don't care about sex scenes...they are just the icing on the cake, but the thing that was important for me were all the dialogues, and the feeling with the character which made the romance so great, deep and reliable

Therefore for DA2 I hope for still more and complex dialogues with potential LIs..

I did that too, funnily enough, and I'm a girl.  But I'm also pathologically allergic to clothes and shoe shopping, so when Leliana started in on shoes, I just did a "...wait...WHAT?!"

Now I'm picturing Alistair in the Wash scene from Firefly playing with toy dinosaurs.  And it is AMAZING.

My boyfriend is kind of like Alistair, actually, so he smiles and nods while I talk about shoes and I smile and nod while he talks about stuff I don't care about.

Actually I've gotten him into shoes. He will offer input on girl shoes when we go shopping together and he is into guy shoes for himself.
